Bersih 5: IGP rubbishes viral message about road closures

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have not issued any notice about road closures in the city due to the Bersih rally on Nov 19, says Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar (pic).

“We have not issued anything on road closures yet,” he said, rubbishing the notion.

A list of roads that are supposedly going to be closed during the upcoming Bersih 5 rally has been making its rounds on social media and messaging app WhatsApp.

It said that roads would be closed to motorists from 5am to 6pm on Saturday, Nov 19.

It also advised readers to avoid wearing yellow or red clothing as it could cause confusion and unnecessary complications with local authorities and protesters.
