KUALA LUMPUR: A school head in Sabah, reported to be involved in the uploading of pornographic videos in a Whatsapp group, was issued a strict written warning before being transferred to another school.

Minister of Education Datuk P. Kamalanathan told the Dewan Rakyat today that the action taken was in line with the standard operating procedures of the state and district education departments.

When probed by Teo Nie Ching (DAP-Kulai) on the teacher’s competency to teach in another school as he was involved in such a appalling act, Kamalanathan explained that upon investigation, it was discovered that the teacher was only an administrator in the group, which was created for another purpose.

“The teacher was not the one who created the group for that purpose (uploading pornographic videos).

SANDAKAN: The Sabah Education Department has identified the teacher who allegedly set up a Whatsapp group and uploaded obscene videos for viewing by its members.

Its director, Datuk Jame Alip, said investigation was in progress and action would be taken against the teacher concerned.

“We will not compromise and will take stern action against the teacher for tarnishing the image of the department and the profession.

…

“As a teacher, the person concerned should not indulge in immoral act and breach the ethics of the profession,” he told reporter during a surprise visit to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Tun Juhar here yesterday.
