SINGAPORE – Given his penchant for producing wow-inducing photos, it was somewhat surprising that Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong failed to capture Wednesday (March 9) morning’s solar eclipse in all its glory.
Instead, Mr Lee posted a photo taken by one of his staff, sharing in a Facebook post that he had gone to the Singapore Botanic Gardens in the morning to catch it.
“Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good shot… what about you? Please share your pics here,” he wrote.
The response was overwhelming, with more than 400 comments posted in less than two hours.
Many shared their own snaps of the rare phenomenon, which included some truly impressive efforts
Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan also shared two photos he took of the eclipse, while the Singapore Police Force’s 36-second time-lapse video chalked up over 50,000 views in two hours.
