The Butterworth-Padang Besar-Butterworth Electric Train Service (ETS) will be discontinued from 1 January 2015.
If you have purchased tickets for this, you may get a full refund at the KTM Intercity and ETS ticket counter.

Butterworth-Padang Besar KTM Komuter service starts today

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd in a statement today said three coaches offered six trips on the Butterworth-Padang Besar-Butterworth route daily. Each trip one way takes an hour and 45 minutes.

“The fares are very reasonable at RM1 to RM11.40 for a one-way trip.

“KTM also offers concession tickets at half price to senior citizens, the disabled and children aged four to 12. Children under 4 ride free,” it said.

The coach stops at 13 stations – Butterworth, Bukit Tengah, Bukit Mertajam, Tasik Gelugor, Sungai Petani, Gurun, Kobah, Alor Setar, Anak Bukit, Kodiang, Arau, Bukit Ketri and Padang Besar.

It leaves Butterworth at 5.45am, 10.45am and 3.30pm and leaves Padang Besar at 8am, 12.50pm and 6.30pm.
