We have all seen babies and cars abandoned by the road side but this is the first time we come across abandoned planes!

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 — Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) today maintained that the rightful owner of three unclaimed Boeing 747s were still undetermined, refusing to even acknowledge a cargo carrier’s insistence that the aircraft belonged to the firm.
The airport authority said the last known owner of the planes was China-based Shaanxi Sunshine Cargo, which was also the last firm to certify the aircraft with local aviation authorities.
MAHB said it was last in contact with Shaanxi Sunshine in 2013 and the firm, which has since ceased operations, has not been in touch with the authority since.
“As a responsible airport operator, Malaysia Airports undertakes to verify all claims of aircraft ownership with the relevant authorities. Thus far, we have not been able to do so to our satisfaction.
“As such, we urge the rightful owner to furnish us with the required information for verification purposes,” MAHB general manager Zainol Mohd Isa said in a statement.
Zainol did not, however, make any reference to Swift Air Cargo that yesterday insisted it has conveyed its claim on the aircraft to MAHB.

‘Missing’ owner of three aircraft parked at KLIA comes forward
PETALING JAYA: The “missing” owner of the three aircraft parked at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has come forward, claiming that the company has been in contact with Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) on a “consistent basis”.
Swift Air Cargo chief executive officer Captain Blue Peterson told The Star Friday that the three Boeing 747 that were featured in newspaper advertisements on Dec 7 belonged to the company.
He said Swift has been the owner of the three aircraft since June 8 this year.
“MAHB knows this for we have been in many meetings with them about the aircraft.
“MAHB for some unfathomable reason, refuses to acknowledge Swift as the owners of the aircraft, even though we have all of the supporting documents, including the Bill of Sale for the three aircraft,” he claimed.
He said the sale of the aircraft to Swift Air Cargo was witnessed by solicitor Syed Amir Ibrahim of Syed Ibrahim & Co, when the documents were signed in Kuala Lumpur.
When contacted, Syed Amir confirmed that the sale of the aircraft to Swift took place.
Captain Peterson also claimed that he had a Statutory Declaration from the previous owner, notarised in Hong Kong and with the Malaysian Consulate stamping it.
“All the many various supporting documents, clearly state that Swift is the owner of all three B747’s,” he said.
…
Attempts to reach MAHB have so far been unsuccessful.

CLARIFICATION ON MALAYSIA AIRPORTS ADVERTISEMENT IN THE STAR AND SIN CHEW DAILY DATED 7 DECEMBER 2015, NOTICE UNDER CIVIL AVIATION ACT 1969
08 December 2015
The advertisements dated 7 December 2015 in The Star and Sin Chew Daily serve as notice to the owner of the aircraft that the aircraft may be sold to recover the charges owed by the owner to Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd under the Civil Aviation Regulations 1996.
The giving of such notice by way of advertisement is a common and reasonable step in the process of debt recovery especially in cases where the company concerned has ceased operations and is a foreign entity whereby exhaustive steps undertaken to find a contact person have not been successful.
This step is also a common process undertaken by airport operators all over the world when faced with such a situation.
