Customers get stuck in ATM booth
In the 1.20pm incident today, five adults and two children in the ATM section of Maybank on Jalan Besar, Bahau, Negeri Sembilan, were trapped inside for about an hour when the doors jammed shut.
According to Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Ramelan Ribut, a distress call was received and the fire department arrived within two minutes, because the fire station was just across the road.
“The doors had become jammed and we were told by the bank that an officer would come to open them,” he told The Malaysian Insider when contacted.
He said the bank had asked firemen not to force the door open because the bank officer had keys.

JEMPOL: Seven people were trapped inside a bank in Bahau, near here, for half an hour when the bank’s automatic door malfunction.
Bahau Fire and Rescue Department operation officer PB Ramelan Ribut said the victims were using the automatic teller machine (ATM) during the 1.15pm incident.
“The victims were trapped for about 30 minutes as we try to contact the bank’s management officers to open the door instead of having to break the window.
