The Washington Post reported that Hayat Boumeddiene, France’s most-wanted woman in connection with the Charlie Hebdo attack, had visited mosques in Malaysia.
French newspapers had reported that they had visited Malaysia but the IGP had categorically denied that.
He had twitted, “Paris attack ― Checks by @PDRMsia resulted, Amedy and his wife Hayat have never entered M’sia.”

Report: Paris terror couple visited mosques, Petronas Twin Towers
PETALING JAYA: Amedy Coulibaly, the attacker of the Hyper Cache kosher supermarket in Paris, and his wife had visited Malaysia as photos in court documents showed the couple at tourists spots in Kuala Lumpur.
It was reported in the Washington Post on Monday that court documents obtained by the US daily showed Coulibaly, 32, and his wife, 26-year-old Hayat Boumeddiene posing in individual photos taken at the Petronas Twin Towers, the National Mosque and at another mosque believed to be in Terengganu.
The undated photographs were from a 2010 police investigation.
It was reported on Jan 10 that French judicial documents concerning a 2010 police search of Coulibaly’s home had turned up a crossbow, 240 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, films and undated photos of him during a trip to Malaysia, as well as letters seeking false official documents.
Foreign reports had reported that the couple holidayed in Malaysia but Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said they “never entered Malaysia”.
Coulibaly was a close friend of the two brothers behind the Charlie Hebdo attacks, Cheris, 32 and Said Kouachi, 34.
The Kouachi brothers had killed 11 people and injured another 11 at the offices of the Paris weekly newspaper on Jan 7 before being cornered at at a printing plant in the village of Dammartin-en-Goele.
This was followed by the Jan 9 attack on the kosher supermarket by Coulibaly, who killed four people and held 15 others hostage, before police stormed the supermarket and killed him.
Boumeddiene left Paris on Jan 2, reportedly bound for Syria.

Slain Paris shooter and fugitive lover holidayed in Malaysia, neighbours claim

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 — Amedy Coulibaly, the gunman from yesterday’s deadly Paris supermarket siege and his now-fugitive girlfriend, Hayat Boumeddiene, had once vacationed here in Malaysia, according to their neighbours in Bagneux, France.
…
Coulibaly was killed by French police after he took customers at supermarket in Vincennes hostage while armed with a Kalashnikov assault rifle. He was suspected ally of the Kouachi brothers who perpetrated a deadly massacre at the office of French weekly Charlie Hebdo.
Boumeddiene is wanted by French authorities in connection with the slaying of a policewoman.
The couple’s link to Malaysia is the latest in an unenviable series of connections that the country has with high-profile terrorism incidents.
Last month, it was revealed that Iranian gunman Man Haron Monis who kept Sydney gripped in a deadly hostage crisis had fled to Malaysia after committing “violent” crimes in Iran before seeking asylum in Australia.
Malaysia was also reportedly the venue of an al Qaeda summit in 2000, during which members of the terrorist network — hosted by Malaysian Army captain Yazid Sufaat — laid the groundwork for future attacks such as the pivotal September 11, 2001 Twin Towers incident in the US.
No signs slain Paris gunman and fugitive lover were here, IGP says
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 — Local police have found no evidence that Amedy Coulibaly, the gunman from yesterday’s deadly Paris supermarket siege and his now-fugitive girlfriend, Hayat Boumeddiene, had been to Malaysia, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said today.
The Inspector-General of Police took to Twitter this evening to address a report by British tabloid The Daily Mail that cited neighbours of the couple as saying the two had once vacationed together in Malaysia.
“Paris attack ― Checks by @PDRMsia resulted, Amedy and his wife Hayat have never entered M’sia.” Khalid posted on his personal Twitter page.
