Cops: Africans posed as watch traders
KUALA LUMPUR: Two men, who are in critical condition after being robbed by two Africans, were negotiating a watch and handbag deal before the incident.
Wangsa Maju acting OCPD Deputy Supt A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said investigations revealed that the Malaysian man and Hong Kong national were supposed to meet several prospective watch and handbag dealers.
“They told us that they brought a bag containing US$100,000 (RM349,545) to seal the deal,” he said yesterday.
“They met the Africans at the hotel but were ambushed when they entered the hotel room,” he added.
DSP Asmadi said the Africans pulled out parang and a scuffle ensued.

Cops seek two Africans over robbery, assault on duo
KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian man and Hong Kong national are in critical condition after they were allegedly slashed by two Africans at a hotel here.
Wangsa Maju acting OCPD Deputy Supt A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said police were alerted about the case around 9pm Thursday.
“We are on the hunt for two African men believed to be part of a robbery syndicate here.
“We believe the two men lure victims under the pretence of a business dealing, before robbing them,” he said Friday.
He added that the two victims have been identified as Malaysian, Chin Kha Foo, 40, and David Chi Keung, 34, from Hong Kong.
