Yeo Yann Yann wins Best Supporting Actress at Asian Film Festival

Malaysian actress Yeo Yann Yann wins another award for her role in the critically acclaimed Singaporean movie, Ilo Ilo.
Malaysian actress Yeo Yann Yann did the nation proud when she won the Best Supporting Actress award at the Asian Film Awards (AFA) last night, for her role in the critically-acclaimed Singaporean film Ilo Ilo.
Yeo is currently based in Singapore. Her role as a pregnant mum struggling during a recession in Singapore had previously won her the Best Supporting Actress award at last year’s 50th Golden Horse Awards, the Chinese equivalent of the Oscars. And she followed that up with a win at the 8th AFA, held in Macau’s City of Dreams for the first time.

Malaysian actress Yeo wins fifth award for Ilo Ilo
PETALING JAYA: It was an especially exciting weekend for Malaysian actress Yeo Yann Yann, who picked up her fifth acting award just two days after winning her fourth award for her role in the multiple award-winning Ilo Ilo.
Yeo nabbed the Best Supporting Actress award at the 56th Asia-Pacific Film Festival held in Macau on Sunday. She had earlier won the Best Actress award at the 10th Dubai International Film Festival held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Friday.
Her winning streak started in September with her Best Actress win at the 11th Pacific Meridian Film Festival held in Vladivostok, Russia. In October, she bagged another Best Actress award at the 15th Mumbai International Film Festival held in Mumbai, India.
Last month, the petite actress made headlines after winning the Best Supporting Actress at Taipei’s prestigious 50th Golden Horse Awards – the Chinese equivalent of the Oscars.
