SHAH ALAM: Two men pleaded guilty in the Sessions Court here today to attempted murder by throwing a foreign woman into the Klang River last week.

The friends, Mohamad Aidilfitri Mohd Powet and Mohd Afiq Jamli, both aged 21, made the guilty plea after the charge was read out to them before judge Slamat Yahya.

They were alleged to have assaulted the 37-year-old woman, bound her legs and then placed her in a gunny sack before throwing her into the Sungai Klang with the intention of killing her.

The victim, who is a factory worker, was rescued by passers-by.

In what appears to be a malicious and deliberate act, the bark surface at a playground in Northland has been laced with hundreds of fish hooks.

Anger has ricocheted around the community of Onerahi, with some parents describing the planting of the hooks as a premeditated, cold-blooded attempt to hurt children.

One child had a fish hook removed from his foot after playing at the Sherwood Park playground on Wednesday. The injury sparked a search by parents and Whangarei District Council staff that uncovered scores of hooks under and near the play equipment.

Many residents with children, pre-schoolers from the playcentre beside the park, and primary school pupils in an after-school care programme at the adjacent community house, use the playground daily.

Whangarei District Council parks officer Spencer Jellyman said the area had been taped off immediately and staff had also used a metal detector to find hooks.

“We cannot take chances with this issue,” Mr Jellyman said. “We are working with the police and City Safe to monitor the park more closely. We hope to have some CCTV cameras installed in the park shortly to deter antisocial behaviour and also potentially catch perpetrators of such behaviour.”

It is the latest in a number of vandalism incidents at the playground that have endangered children and cost ratepayers time and money. In April last year the shade sails were shredded, requiring total replacement at a cost of $8200. Within two weeks someone attacked the new sails again, burning holes in them. That second repair cost about $2000. The playground is also regularly hit with graffiti.

Man ‘buried 10-year-old daughter alive because she was a girl’

A man has been arrested for trying to bury his 10-year-old daughter alive because she was a girl.

Police say the shocking incident in Tripura, India, saw Abdul Hussein dig a pit in his back garden while his wife was out, and then put his daughter in the hole with her hands roped together and her mouth taped up.

Her dad is then said to have filled up the pit to chest level, with pictures showing the young girl with her arms and head above the dirt floor.

When Abdul’s wife returned home he put a bamboo basket over their daughter’s head, with the intention of burying her completely later on, NDTV reports.

But his wife began to question where the little girl was, and she was soon discovered by neighbours.

They are said to have beaten up the dad before calling police.

Abdul was then arrested, and now faces a charge of attempted murder.

Later, he was said to have gone to his aunt’s house and entered his grandmother’s room, removed her diaper and proceeded to rape her.

The incident was witnessed by his cousin, who immediately locked the room from the outside and informed his mother.

However, the accused managed to escape through a window.

Duo charged with abusing girl

JOHOR BARU: A single mother and her unemployed boyfriend have pleaded not guilty to two counts of abusing her three-year-old daughter.

Factory operator Katrina Kamilah Kamarudin, 29, and Hishamuddin Ismail, 31, were first brought to a Sessions Court here to face the charge of physically abusing the girl by hitting her with a stick.

Two children murdered in their sleep in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: A mother found her two children brutally slashed to death in their home in Sabah’s eastern Lahad Datu district.

Asmidah Ardi, 16, and Azuan Ardi, 11, were found sprawled in a pool of blood with deep cuts on their heads when their mother returned from work at a plantation at about 8am on Monday.

Asmidah died on the way to hospital while her brother died on the spot. Their two other siblings were not harmed.

It is believed that the two victims were slashed when all four of them were still sleeping after their mother went to work at about 5.30am.

SIBU: A cat found hanged high up on a pole in front of a house here has stunned neighbours and animal lovers in Jalan Lada here.

In what appears to be a warning to the occupants of the house, the black feline had its neck tied with a rope and was hoisted to the top of a nine-metre pole and left to die there.

It is learned that the 38-year-old house owner had left for Kuching at the end of last month after he was intimidated by certain people over a business deal. His house has since been left vacant.

Yesterday, he came home and saw the cat hanging from the pole which was used to hang long firecrackers.

Seeing this, he remained inside the house.

Previously, he had lodged a police report about the intimidation which led to the arrest of four men under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

The men are now in remand.

‘Cannibal attack’ victim named by police

Police have named the woman allegedly attacked by a man at a homeless hostel in south Wales yesterday as 22-year-old Cerys Marie Yemm from Blackwood.

Gwent police were called to the Sirhowy Arms hotel in Argoed, Blackwood, in the early hours of Thursday morning after reports of a man attacking a woman.

Ms Yemm was reportedly found being attacked by 34-year-old Matthew Williams. She later died as a result of her injuries.

Mr Williams was stunned by a 50,000 volt Taser by police and arrested at the scene but became unresponsive. He was given first aid by officers and paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gwent police said they are treating Ms Yemm’s death as murder and are not looking for anyone else.

LONDON (Reuters) – British police confronted a man trying to eat the eyeball and face of a woman and used a stun gun on the cannibal who later died, local media quoted witnesses as saying.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a murder investigation has been opened.

Police said they were called to an incident at a hostel in the village of Argoed in South Wales on Thursday after reports of a man attacking a woman.

Security staff at the Sirhowy Arms discovered the 34-year-old man, who had been released from prison two weeks ago, eating the woman, a 22-year-old believed to be his girlfriend, according to witnesses quoted by the South Wales Evening Post.

According to the Central News Agency, the man, known only by his surname Huang, had suspicions that his 47-year-old companion, Zhu, was having an affair.

TAIPEI: A 79-year-old man in Taiwan was arrested on Wednesday (Oct 29) after he cut off his girlfriend’s lips, ears and nose in a fit of jealousy, and flushed them down the toilet, reported the Central News Agency.

The 47-year-old woman is recuperating in hospital and is said to be in a stable condition, according to the local media outlet.

The Central News Agency reported that the man, only known by his surname Huang, had suspected that his girlfriend was having an affair.

Huang allegedly tied up the woman when she was asleep, and used a fruit knife to slice off her lips, ears and nose. Central News Agency quoted the police as saying that when the woman screamed in pain, Huang tried to use a towel to gag her. He later flushed pieces of her flesh down the toilet and dialled for an ambulance.

Missing boy’s body found in Permatang Tinggi

BUKIT MERTAJAM: A five-year old boy’s body was found by the police in an oil palm estate in Permatang Tinggi here today.

The body was found six days after the boy’s mother lodged a missing child police report.

CID chief SAC Mazlam Kesah said the breakthrough came after the mother confessed to accidentally killing the victim while under police questioning.

He said the mother and boyfriend had been detained yesterday for questioning to facilitate investigations.

“The case has been reclassified as murder,” he said in a brief text statement to the media when contacted.

The decomposed body was discovered after police took the two suspects to the plantation to assist in the search early this morning.

It is learned the 30-year-old mother is from Kulim, Kedah, while the male suspect is 25 years old.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A man who has bumps resembling horns implanted in his forehead was found guilty of murder and other charges Friday for his role in the kidnapping and slaying of three Massachusetts men in 2011.

“I’ll see you all in hell,” Caius Veiovis, 34, of Pittsfield, yelled at the jury that convicted him after deliberating over six days. Veiovis also was convicted Friday of kidnapping and intimidation of a witness.

The dismembered bodies of David Glasser, 44; Edward Frampton, 58; and Robert Chadwell, 47, of Pittsfield were found buried in nearby Becket 10 days after they disappeared in August 2011. The killings shocked Pittsfield, a town of about 41,000 in northwestern Massachusetts. The trials were moved to Springfield.

Two co-defendants in the case were convicted of the same charges earlier this year. They are serving life without parole, the mandatory term Veiovis faces at his sentencing Monday.

Prosecutors said Veiovis helped Adam Lee Hall, 37, of Peru, and David Chalue, 47, of North Adams, kidnap and shoot the victims weeks before Glasser was to testify against Hall, a Hells Angels member, in an assault case. The others were killed to eliminate witnesses, prosecutors said. Defense attorneys argued there was shaky evidence.

Angry netizens are on the hunt for Jacky Lo, likely a mainlander (his original posts were made from Hong Kong), though it has proven difficult as the information listed on his profile has already been investigated and debunked. He supposedly fled to mainland China after his horrendous photos went viral, but his most recent location tags on Facebook show him shopping in Hong Kong and “feeling fabulous.”

“I will ask a question every seven days. I will kill a dog if your answer is wrong, and release one if the answer is correct,” he wrote on Facebook.

“The fate of the dogs depend on you,” he added, assuredly with a maniacal grin and an evil glint in his eyes. It sounds more like the plot of the latest torture-porn film than a real human being’s plan for canine-icide.

Facebook has removed Lo’s Facebook page after his announcement, and there’s no word yet on whether he will continue this sick, disturbing game elsewhere online.

Man boasts about giving dog a ‘bath’ in washing machine

A man residing in Hong Kong has outraged animal lovers after he uploaded photos of a small dog being spun in a washing machine on his Facebook page.

Believed to be a Chinese national, the user identified as Jacky Lo posted 11 photos of the small white dog with the caption: “How to give a dog a bath really quickly: First soaked, then washed, and spun dry. Done!”.

Those who saw his posts were shocked and further angered when he told a user that the dog was dead, and asked if she would like to see a photo of it.

The user named Agnes warned him that animal cruelty was illegal in Hong Kong, but was greeted with indignant responses.

Instead of showing remorse, he said: “Why do I have to be afraid of you?”. Lo also told Agnes that he was not afraid of anything, and that he did not even consider abuse to human beings a problem.

An online petition calling for punishment of the teen has received 13,771 signatures so far.

In his latest Facebook post, Lo shrugged off the widespread anger against him, saying that he was about to return to the mainland and could not be bothered with the criticism made against him.

A California man is behind bars after allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend’s dog — then cooking the poor Pomeranian and feeding it to her without her knowledge. Ryan Eddy Watenpaugh, 34, of Palo Cedro, was arrested Thursday on animal cruelty and other charges after he served up the sick revenge dish over the weekend, police said, and later taunted his ex in a text message.

The woman told police her Pomeranian, Bear, went missing after she and Watenpaugh had an argument that ended with him allegedly assaulting her. Last week Watenpaugh and the victim briefly reconciled and he cooked her a meal that was purported to be pork on Saturday. Skeletal remains of toddler found buried behind house

MALACCA: The skeletal remains of a two-year-old boy were found buried behind a house in Taman Bayan, Bukit Katil, here by the police.

Acting Malacca Tengah OCPD Supt Razali Abu Bakar said following the macabre discovery, a couple had been detained to help in the investigation.

He added that the man, 25, and his 24-year-old lover were brought to the site, where police discovered the skeleton at around 7am yesterday after digging about 0.3m deep.

The skeletal remains were wrapped in a batik cloth.

JOHOR BARU: Police have solved the murder of a man whose dismembered body was found in several plastic bags along the North-South Expressway in Kulaijaya on August 1 with the arrests of four suspects.

Johor police chief Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Shariff said the suspects, all foreigners aged between 20 and 40, were arrested in Kulaijaya on August 2, about 24 hours after the body was found.

“The suspects have remanded until August 14 and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” said Mokhtar.

KULAIJAYA: Workers from PLUS Bhd stumbled upon a horrific find while conducting their usual rounds along the North-South Express­way – the body of a man hacked into many pieces and packed into plastic bags.

Apparently, the maintenance workers were working by the highway when they came across the bags at KM21 heading south.

Noticing a foul smell, a worker opened one of the bags to find a severed head and other parts.

Apparently, the victim had been murdered at a separate location before being dumped by the expressway.

It is also learnt that the victim was aged between 30 and 40. There were stab wounds on the back of his body and neck.

Tokyo: A 15-year-old Japanese schoolgirl has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a classmate and dismembering her body.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, admitted strangling the victim and severing her head and left hand, Kyodo news agency reported on Sunday.

She allegedly delivered blows to the head of 15-year-old Aiwa Matsuo with a metal instrument before strangling her in the city of Sasebo, in Nagasaki Prefecture, south-west Japan.

The victim’s body was found on a bed in the suspect’s apartment early on Sunday and investigators discovered tools nearby, reports said.

BAGAN SERAI: The remains of a newborn baby girl was found floating in a monsoon drain at Parit J, Jalan Matang Buluh here today.

In the 1.15pm incident, the find attracted a crowd as it was near a school and parents were picking up their children after school.

A witness, Mohd Salihin Rahman, 35, said he was initially surprised to see the crowd on the bridge.

Uncle slits nephew’s throat while family prepares to break fast

KOTA KINABALU: A family breaking fast at a restaurant turned deadly when an uncle slit the throat of his four-year-old nephew for no apparent reason.

It is believed that the 23-year-old unemployed suspect had called his nephew to him when he saw the boy playing alone in the restaurant.

The man then brought the boy behind the eatery near Telupid some 195km from the state capital and slit the latter’s throat in the 6.10pm incident on Monday.

The boy managed to scream in pain, which alerted his mother and was immediately taken to the hospital by his family who were at the front area of the restaurant preparing to break their fast.

The victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital

Brother convicted in Taiwan ‘pickled head’ murder case

TAIPEI, June 30, 2014 (AFP) – A court in southern Taiwan Monday handed a life sentence to a man who murdered his sister and pickled her head in a gruesome crime that shocked the island.

Chen Chia-fu, 38, was taken into custody in March last year on suspicion of murdering and dismembering his sister for an insurance payout.

Prosecutors had sought the death penalty as he showed no remorse but in their sentencing the judges took into consideration his “abnormal” family background.

“The suspect had had no criminal record. He grew up in a family with violence and family members with mental disorders. It was the root of his distorted personality,” a spokesman in the Chiayi district court said, reading a court paper during a press conference.

The “pickled head case” came to light after police in Chiayi county received a note claiming that the body of the woman, who had been missing since December 2012, was in a public toilet near a temple and asking for a “proper burial” for her.

The note, which led to the discovery of her head, became critical evidence as the writing matched Chen’s, prosecutors said. The rest of the victim’s body has yet to be located.

Cops find holes in mum’s statements

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are looking into the possibility of charging the mother of Siti Soffea Emelda Abdullah with negligence after the two-year-old was abducted and beheaded by a man near the Klang River on Thursday night.

A source in the investigation said irregularities had emerged in the statement given by the girl’s mother, Siti Salmy Suib, 32, who alleged that she left her child with her friends because she had to use the rest room at the Kota Raya shopping complex at 3pm.

When she came out about five minutes later, Siti Salmy claimed her daughter was not with her friends and searched all over for her.

Siti Salmy only learnt of what had happened to her daughter when police tracked her down and alerted her later that night.

“However, when we checked CCTV footage, the victim was seen playing by herself when she was taken by the suspect.

“There were no friends around. Maybe there were friends but they were not there when she was taken. We are looking into her story, maybe she is trying to cover up for herself,” said the source.

The source said the CCTV footage showed a security guard watching the suspect lead Siti Soffeah away but took no action.

The source said the guard, when questioned, said it was because he was used to seeing the girl playing and being in the care of several different people, as Siti Soffea and her mother were regulars at the mall.

“We may include issues of negligence in the case papers when we forward them to the Deputy Public Prosecutor,” the source said.

KUALA LUMPUR: In a gruesome murder that has left many shocked, a man abducted a two-year-old, killed her and beheaded her apparently with a ceramic tile, before jumping into a river.

Police believe they have identified the assailant, a man in his late 30s and an ex-convict.

A source said CCTV footage at the complex showed a security guard watching the man walking away with Siti Soffea Emelda Abdullah.

But the source added that the guard may not have realised the girl was being abducted.

In a more bizarre turn of events, there were also some who believed it was a ritual killing, claiming that the attacker tried to drink her blood.

At about 9pm, a man was seen carrying Siti Soffea towards the bank of the Klang River, about 1.5km from the complex, by several passers-by.

A witness, who asked to be identified only as Mohammad, said he was bathing in the river when he saw a man bent over something that looked like a doll.

“When I moved closer I realised it was a small girl whose head was partially submerged in the water.

“The man noticed me approaching and turned to look at me,” said Mohammad, who claimed he saw the man drinking blood oozing from her head.

Mohammad, 29, who lives under the bridge, then asked his friend, Las, for help.

Mohammad and Las both claimed that they saw the attacker slash at the girl’s neck with a broken piece of tile. They also said the man had a bottle of what looked like blood.

Mohammad told Las to stay put while he went to fetch the police.

“When the policemen arrived, the man jumped into the river and tried to swim away,” Mohammad said.

City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said police believe the attacker drowned while trying to escape.

“The suspect was struggling to swim and was being carried away by the current. We believe he drowned,” he said.

As the country reels from the shock of a two-and-a-half year old toddler being beheaded in central Kuala Lumpur, the city’s lawmakers are saying such crimes will continue as long as the police failed to bring them to book.

Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar, in expressing her shock over the incident, said history has shown that crimes against children in Malaysia have continued to take place while the culprits have gotten away.

“Such heinous deeds will continue until there’s a clear punitive action where perpetrators are punished. A cursory glance at the rate of prosecution in crimes involving children is very low; from Nurin Jazlin to the two-and-a-half year old last night.”

“But, we must work hard to deter such criminals,” Nurul Izzah said today.

Calling the incident “unbelievable”, Bukit Bintang MP Fong Kui Lun echoed Nurul Izzah’s sentiments, urging police to work harder to bring culprits of crimes against children to justice.

“Whatever necessary action must be taken as this was just a child, who could not protect herself,” he added, noting that the culprit or those who had killed Nurin Jazlin had gotten away.

Beheaded toddler’s body found, severed head beside body

KUALA LUMPUR: A female toddler was beheaded before her body was left at the bank of Sungai Klang near KTM station at Jalan Hishammuddin here earlier tonight.

The victim’s body, which was only clad in a diaper, was found by a public member about 9pm.

Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commisioner Zainuddin Ahmad said the victim was identified as a girl between the age of 2-and-a-half and three.

Tributes flow for nun who lived life helping hard-core poor children

Sister Juliana Lim, who died following an attack in an apparent robbery outside a church in Seremban last week, has been described as having devoted her life to teaching children from impoverished and broken families.

This was among the many tributes paid to the Catholic nun at the wake held at the Visitation Centre in Seremban today, which was attended by almost 100 mourners.

Undeterred by a light drizzle, children accompanied by adults made their way to the centre to offer their condolences to Lim’s family.

Church of Visitation assistant parish priest Father Gregory Chan led the tributes, describing Lim as someone who was strict but kind with the children.

“She never complained about giving her time to teach these children, even venturing into poverty-stricken areas when needed,” Chan said.

“Lim touched a lot of lives, including the underprivileged children whom she taught without asking for anything in return.”

Church of Visitation parish priest John Gnanapiragasam also paid tribute to Lim, whom he described as someone who gave freely of herself.

Sister Lim in Seremban church attack dies

SEREMBAN: Sister Julianna Lim, one of two nuns who were attacked outside their church here, died at about 3.25pm Tuesday.

Lim, 69, was walking with Sister Marie Rose alias Theresa Teng 79, to the Church of Visitation when they were set upon by robbers at about 6am last Wednesday.

The nun from the Holy Infant Jesus Order did not recover from her injuries after they were warded at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital.

Lim, who had been on life support since then, was surrounded by family members and church members when she breathed her last.

Attacker caught on camera at church

SEREMBAN: The CCTV at the Church of Visitation here has captured some footage of a man who is believed to have assaulted two Catholic nuns at the entrance to the premises.

“Based on our CCTV recordings, a passing motorcyclist made a U-turn at about 6.05am and rode into Gate 2, a minute after the sisters had driven in,” parish priest Father John Gnanapiragasam said of the violent attack last Wednesday morning.

The part-footage was captured by two of the church’s 13 CCTVs, he said.

“The assailant, who was wearing a helmet and holding a lighted torch, ran after the two sisters who were dressed in everyday clothes.

“He was then seen running towards his motorcycle and taking off two minutes later,” he said in a statement.

Members of the Roman Catholic order “specialise” in helping the poor and homeless and is famous worldwide for reaching out to the marginalised, making sure they get opportunities to make a better life for themselves.

Church member P. Mary Josephine, 65, said doctors had conveyed this to church officials as Lim’s condition had not improved since she was wheeled after the attack.

“Her pressure was extremely high when she was brought in but has since dropped. Doctors are trying their best to stabilise her but there are no signs of recovery yet,” she said.

Several church members have been praying by Lim’s bedside at the hospital since she was brought in for treatment.

Josephine said Lim suffered severe internal head injuries and bleeding.

Nuns attacked outside church

The Council of Churches of Malaysia (CCM) today expressed shock over the attack on the nuns.

“The voices of antagonism and hatred have been on the increase in the country and it would be no surprise if the attack on the nuns were not conspired by those out to cause inter-religious conflict in the country.

“The police must investigate this case of outright religious intimidation and fear creation and bring those responsible to justice,” said CCM general-secretary Reverend Hermen Shastri in a statement.

Nuns attacked outside Church of the Visitation in Seremban

PETALING JAYA: Two nuns were seriously injured in an apparent attack this morning by an unknown assailant or assailants outside the Church of the Visitation in Seremban.

Church caretakers found them in the church compound and sent them to the Seremban  General Hospital.

A priest identified one of the nuns as 69 year old Julianna Lim Nyo Nya and the other as 79 year old Mary-Rose Teng.

PETALING JAYA: Two nuns were attacked in an attempted robbery outside the Church of Visitation in SerembanWednesday morning around 6am before Lauds, an early morning Christian prayer.

In a Facebook post, the Church requested its followers to pray for two of their nuns who were in hospital – one of whom is reported to be critically injured.

The two nuns have been identified as Julianna Lim and Mary-Rose, both of whom were sent to the Seremban Hospital.

The Church said that Lim is critically ill and on the ventilator.

Murdered toddler’s mother and friends detained

KUALA TERENGGANU: Police detained four suspects today including the mother of the two-year-old girl found murdered in a vacant house at the Permint Seberang Paka housing estate in Dungun yesterday.

State CID chief ACP K.Manoharan said the main suspect, 25, was the mother’s boyfriend, who was picked up about 1.30 pm in Kuala Paka, Dungun.

He said the man’s two friends, both 25, and the victim’s mother, 28, were detained between 10.30 pm last night and 1.30 am this morning in Paka.

“We had detained the boyfriend earlier to facilitate investigation into a missing child report lodged by the mother last Saturday (Jan 18).

10-year-old girl raped, murdered and dumped into river

SIBU: The case of the 10-year-old girl who was reported drown near Rumah Belinsing in Sungai Naman 2 on Jan 1 took another turn when it was revealed that she had actually been raped and murdered before her body was dumped into the river.

A 37-year man had at 10.22am on Jan 1 lodged a police report at the central police station that his 10-year-old niece identified as Britney Clement had been missing since 10pm on Dec 31.

At 11.50am on Jan 1, the police team received information from the public over a discovery the body of a girl near the longhouse.

At that time the police had classified the case as sudden death.

A post-mortem on the girl’s body at 11am on Friday by pathologist, Dr Jamil of the Sibu Hospital showed that there were slight abrasions on the girl’s private part.

The police team then proceeded to the crime scene and conducted interviews on residents of the longhouse and houses around the area.

As a result of that the police stumbled upon a 50-year old man who is staying near the deceased family’s home.

The suspect was in fear when seeing the police. He was later brought to the police station for questioning.

He then admitted to raping and later killing her.

The case has been re-classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Crime activist commended

SHAH ALAM: Crime activist Kuan Chee Heng, who helped the police to capture the suspect in the gruesome murder of teenager Ng Yuk Tim three weeks ago, has earned official praise from the Selangor police for his part in the case.

State police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan presented a certificate of appreciation to Kuan in a brief ceremony at the Selangor police headquarters here yesterday.

Kuan, the founder of the Selangor Community Police Association (COPS) had joined the family in the search for the girl and suspected that Poon, who had also joined the search, was responsible for her disappearance.

He questioned Poon and handed him to the police.

As the deceased’s family looked on from the public gallery, Poon Wai Hong, barefooted and clad in white T-shirt and dark coloured shorts, merely nodded his head to indicate he understood the charge of killing Ng Yuk Tim.

Poon, 23, was alleged to have killed the girl at his house at Jalan PJU 1/4F, Kampung Cempaka, Kelana Jaya here between 3pm and 4pm on Oct 21. No plea was recorded.

Cosplay murder suspect goes for PSYCHIATRIC evaluation

SHAH ALAM – The suspect in the murder of 15-year old Ng Yuk Tim on Monday, is currently undergoing psychology evaluation to determine whether he is suffering from mental illness.

Selangor Police chief Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan said the police is awaiting the result of the evaluation in order to proceed with charging the suspect in court.

“We are now awaiting the result,” he said in a press conference at the Selangor police headquarters here today.

The murder case is considered as solved with the arrest of the suspect on Tuesday.

PETALING JAYA: Selangor Commu­nity Policing Association (COPS) founder Kuan Chee Heng became involved in Ng Yuk Tim’s murder case when he was contacted by the mother of the victim seeking his help to find her daughter on Oct 22.

Kuan, a former police constable, said he initially thought it was a case of a girl running away from home, but Sim Yee Ling, 35, was adamant her daughter had not run away.

The grieving mother approached Kuan after reporters suggested that she seek help from him.

“She told me it was urgent so I met her at the Kelana Jaya LRT station at 5pm (on Tuesday) and the suspect was also with her. He even offered me a drink at a nearby mamak shop near the LRT,” said Kuan.

He said he began questioning the suspect on where and when he left Ng.

Kuan, who then noticed a wound resembling a bite mark on the suspect’s left palm, said after asking him more questions, the man confessed that “the girl was in a bag”.

PETALING JAYA: A photo of a pair of dumbbells posted on the Facebook page of the 23-year-old suspect who allegedly killed teenage girl Ng Yuk Tim could possibly be the weapon used in the act.

The photo of a pair of dumbbells was posted on the suspect’s Facebook page on Mar 31, which he described as an impulse buy.

In the post, which was written in Chinese, the suspect said he “went shopping after paying respects to my ancestors, and came across a shop selling fitness equipment.

“I decided to buy these (the dumbells). (Maybe) after saving more money, I will buy more (weights) to make it heavier,” he said in his post.

The suspect, on Tuesday, had confessed to Selangor Community Policing founder Kuan Chee Hong that he had attempted to rape the 15-year-old Ng in his house and had hit her in the head with a dumbbell after she resisted, killing her on the spot.

Cosplay killer met teen victim alone twice

PETALING JAYA (Oct 23, 2013): The second meeting alone with a fellow cosplay fan proved fatal for teenager Ng Yuk Tim who was murdered on Monday.

Sources said the 15-year-old girl had met her killer alone once before since befriending him several years ago.

She had met the 23-year-old suspect, who works as a scaffolder, on other occasions with friends.

On Monday, the suspect fetched Ng from the Kelana Jaya LRT station at 1pm before driving her to his grandmother’s house in Kampung Chempaka nearby.

Sources said Ng and the man met to plan an upcoming cosplay event and were alone in the house as his grandmother was away at the time.

As the duo chatted, the suspect allegedly tried to molest Ng who screamed for help as he persisted. In the struggle, Ng bit his hand.

Angered by this, the man used an exercise dumbbell to strike her until she fell unconscious.

Realising that she was dead, the man then stuffed Ng into a suitcase before disposing it at a secluded spot near Kota Kemuning.

Hours after she failed to return home, the victim’s family began a search for her.

On Tuesday, the man also joined in the search for Ng and posted pleas for her return on social website Facebook where Ng had befriended him.

Selangor Community Policing chief and anti-crime activist Kuan Chee Heng, who had assisted Ng’s family, was suspicious of the suspect’s account of events prior to the victim’s disappearance.

The ex-policeman spoke to the man and asked him about the bite marks on his hand.

The man later confessed to Kuan about what had actually happened and led police to Ng’s body.

Cosplay killing: Too late for regrets, says suspect

PETALING JAYA: “Why did you do this?” asked reporters as the suspected killer of 15-year-old Ng Yuk Tim was hauled into the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning.

“I don’t know…,” he replied nonchalantly in a daze.

When asked if he regretted his crime, the 23-year-old said, “It’s too late for me to regret.”

The man is being remanded by police until October 29 to assist in investigations into the murder of Yuk Tim who was found dead and stuffed in a suitcase on Monday.

Petaling Jaya OCPD ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed confirmed this, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

PETALING JAYA: The suspect who allegedly murdered a 15-year-old girl whose body was found in a suitcase, is fan of One Piece, a Japanese anime.

The 23-year-old man loves to don the character Z from the anime which is about the adventures of Monkey D.Luffy, a young boy who has an elastic body.

The suspect is famous among the cosplay (costume play where participants don constume to represent an anime character) community in Malaysia.

He bagged 5th place in the recent CPF Cosplay Competition held in Sungai Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur.

Some cosplayers, who knows the suspect personally, could not believe that he was involved in a murder.

They say the suspect has helped many cosplayers know more about their passion.

“Let me tell you this, the alleged suspect has so many supporters, even his closest friends will not believe he did it,” said a cosplayer who knows him personally.

“He is a nice guy. I’ve spoken to him a few times and I’ve never heard any unsavoury rumours about him,” she added.

PETALING JAYA: A 15-year-old girl who was reported missing is believed to have been murdered, with the suspected killer in police custody.

The 23 year-old suspect, a male friend of the girl, led police to her body which was in a suitcase beside Jalan Kebun in Shah Alam.

PETALING JAYA: The body of 15-year-old girl Ng Yuk Tim, who had been missing since Monday, was found stuffed in a suitcase and in Jalan Kebun Nenas, Shah Alam.

Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said a 23-year-old male suspect had confessed to killing the girl in his house and was brought in to the Petaling Jaya police headquarters at 6.30pm.

“He led police to a body which was in a suitcase at the side of the road near a curb,” he told a press conference at the crime scene.

According to sources, Ng Yuk Tim left her home at 11am on Monday and went to the man’s home in Kelana Jaya to work on cosplay costumes for an upcoming event.

The man initially claimed that he had dropped her off at the Kelana Jaya LRT station at about 3.30pm.

Under persistent questioning by a crime watcher, he confessed to murdering her.

He admitted that he tried to rape the girl before striking her with a dumbell, killing her on the spot.
