BALIK PULAU, April 12 ― Ummi Hafilda Ali is confident of a landslide win over brother Azmin Ali were she to be picked by Barisan Nasional (BN) to run in his Gombak parliamentary seat for the May 5 polls.

“No one knows him more than his own siblings and family so with our knowledge of him, I will be able to defeat him if the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak decides to field me as a candidate against Azmin,” she said.

Ummi Hafilda, who shot to fame through her role as the prosecution’s witness in Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s first sodomy trial in 1998, has been on a campaign to discredit the PKR de facto leader, Azmin and the party in general.

Azmin, who is her older brother, is the PKR deputy president and the incumbent Gombak MP and Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyman.

In the last two months, Ummi Hafilda has been making her rounds spewing vitriol against her three targets.

“I have confronted Anwar directly nine times in the past 15 years and each time, he had run away from me so I will continue to follow his campaign trail throughout this election period,” said the Umno member.

She also accused Anwar of dodging her challenge for a debate, before daring him to sue her for defamation.

“I want Anwar to sue me so that I can reveal even more evidence of Anwar’s wrongdoings,” she said.

The controversial sibling of PKR’s Azmin Ali offers to contest under the BN banner in the coming polls. But she wants to take on her brother and Anwar Ibrahim.

PETALING JAYA: PKR’s vocal critic Ummi Hafilda Ali is willing to contest in the elections under the Barisan Nasional banner as long as the ruling coalition allows her to contest against “two traitors of the nation” – PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and her brother, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.

“If given an opportunity, I would like to oppose both of them only. I am not interested in the rest because my goal is not to be a leader but to destroy these traitors,” she was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.

“This is my country and I don’t want traitors of the race (pengkhianat bangsa) to smear Malaysia even if the person is my own flesh and blood,” said Ummi Hafilda in reference to Azmin

Wonder Woman is the fictional DC Comics Superheroine; here in Malaysia, Umno is lucky to have its own Wonder Woman, Ummi Hafilda Ali. Whenever the Malaysian government is facing a crisis, Ummi Hafilda appears from nowhere, and is ready to do battle with the forces of democracy.

Ummi was campaigning in Kerdau and Merlimau, for Umno in 2011. She emerged just before the Sodomy II verdict in January 2012. Whenever Umno is plagued with bad news, trust Ummi to pop up. Diversion is the name of Umno’s game.

Wonder Woman wears a golden tiara which doubles up as a throwing weapon, which will return to her, like a boomerang. There is no tiara on Ummi’s head save for a tudung which complements her outfit. The only things that will boomerang back for Ummi, are her threats. They have a habit of returning to ridicule her.

Wonder Woman’s wrists are covered by indestructible bracelets which can deflect bullets. Ummi’s wrists, neck and fingers are adorned with bling. With her gift of the gab, she has no hesitation in trying to deflect criticism.

Where Wonder Woman is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and tactical warfare, Ummi is an expert in trading insults. Her favourite topics are Anwar Ibrahim, his wife Wan Azizah and Ummi’s own brother, Azmin Ali. She leaves tactical warfare to her mentor, the former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad.
