On Twitter, however, people have criticised the reception
Among them, Segambut member of Parliament (MP) Hannah Yeoh questioned that how can an MP, who has corruption charges against him, host a reception right at the doorsteps of the highest court in Malaysia.
.
A netizen, meanwhile, tweeted that this is MP Tengku Adnan’s way of “giving a middle finger” to Malaysia’s judiciary system right after being discharged from corruption charges.
.
Several others said that it showed how double standard is practised among the political class.

10,000 guests drive through Ku Nan’s son’s wedding reception
By Bernama – December 20, 2020 @ 4:08pm

The Javanese-themed ceremony started at 11am and ended at about 2pm.
Tengku Muhammed Hafiz said he and his family thanked all the guests who came to the wedding reception, despite it being carried out under the new normal.
“The drive-through concept was my father’s idea. He wanted my wedding to be celebrated by all the people in Putrajaya because they are also my family, as I grew up here,” he said.
Tengku Muhammed Hafiz, who is pursuing medical studies in Indonesia, said the ceremony was held in compliance with prescribed standard operating procedures (SOP) to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The event was enlivened by Javanese cultural performances, as well as local artistes, who could be viewed on a huge screen next to the stage. – BERNAMA
