Grabcar driver arrested for allegedly spoiling for a fight with City Hall officers
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a 38-year-old man who allegedly threatened and challenged Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) enforcement officers to a fight yesterday.
Cheras police chief Assistant Commissioner Chong Kok Sin said the man who worked as a Grabcar driver was arrested at Cheras police headquarters at 6.30pm today.
Chong said the man was being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant from discharging his public functions, as well as Section 506 of the Code for criminal intimidation.
Earlier, Chong had confirmed that one of the enforcement officers lodged a report at Sentul police station yesterday regarding the feud.
The commotion between the two parties, which was captured on a video clip of four minutes and six seconds, had gone viral on social media.
It is believed that the man was livid when his car, which was parked illegally, was clamped by the officers.
