AirAsia staff thanks Tony for making him who he is today
PETALING JAYA: AirAsia flight attendant Assraf Nasir, who fired-up Twittersphere earlier this year with his Britney Spears dance moves, has thanked his AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes for making him the person he is today.
In a message he posted on Instagram yesterday, Assraf said, “Without him (Fernandes) I wouldn’t be who I am today and it was a great opportunity to be able to perform in front of him during SANTAN Food Festival last Monday. Thanks Boss!”
Assraf was referring to a dance routine he performed to Britney’s song Toxic, in conjunction with the low-cost carrier’s Santan Food Fest.
The festival is touted as the largest inflight food tasting event in Asia featuring popular meals from across the region.
Assraf created quite a sensation in March this year, when a video of him dancing in an empty plane, mimicking the moves of Britney in her music video Toxic, right down to singing into the intercom and pushing a trolley down the aisle, caught everyone’s attention.
Early this week he performed, along with a group of female dancers, to an extended version of the song, and in front of a live audience which included his boss, Fernandes.
Judging from the video uploaded to YouTube on May 24, Assraf clearly outdid himself, blending precision moves masterfully synchronised with those of the other dancers.
He was all smiles throughout the dance performance, and even sashayed cheekily to greet some of the audience members personally, including Fernandes.
