Najib’s FB page awash in flood of ‘angry’ emoji
Hazlan Zakaria Published Today 7:54 am
In what can be seen as online display of civil disobedience, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s Facebook page was awash with angry vibes last night as thousands of netizens went on an emoji rampage.
The most recent post on the premier’s page last night garnered almost 10,000 ‘angry’ emojis, far outstripping the ‘love’ emoji (194), as well as the usual ‘like’ (4,600).

High time Malaysia bans ‘Fesbuk’, aide of @NajibRazak’s wife says on Facebook http://tdy.sg/1hQJ38k

KUALA LUMPUR — Mr Rizal Mansor, the aide to the prime minister’s wife Rosmah Mansor, called on Putrajaya yesterday (Aug 21) to ban social media sites like Facebook, claiming they are now platforms inciting hatred and lies.
He added that social media is now a threat to national security as people were abusing its original intent as a social networking tool to spread division and disunity.
“Social media is supposed to make us closer… but it’s mostly used to spread hatred.. falsehood… slander and others.. this can bring about the collapse of the race and country,” the personal aide to Rosmah wrote in colloquial Bahasa Malaysia, ironically on his Facebook page. “It is high time Facebook and its like be banned from Malaysia.”

Sivamaran Seenivasan We believe you PM. Just deny directly that the Ambank accounts are not yours and billions did not end up in your accounts. Sekian. Terima kasih.

Helena Hon Well written plea of innocence but then he didn’t write it. And we don’t buy it anyway. If he hadn’t done a wrong thing in his life, if there weren’t so many scandals weighing down his plea of innocence, we might give that nice prose there some consideration. There’s the involvement of ambank too in too many areas. Karma. Its working. Die by your own sword.
In recent months, various allegations – all unsubstantiated, and many simply outrageous – have been directed against me and my family.
These attacks began when I refused to implement Tun Mahathir’s personal demands. I refused, because I do not believe it is right for Malaysia to be ruled by proxy.
Tun then created a crisis when he recklessly claimed that RM42 billion was missing from 1MDB, when in fact these are audited debts backed by RM51 billion audited assets.
The latest allegation is that I have taken state-linked funds for personal gain. I believe Tun, working hand in glove with foreign nationals, including the now discredited political attack blog Sarawak Report, is behind this latest lie.
Let me be very clear: I have never taken funds for personal gain as alleged by my political opponents – whether from 1MDB, SRC International or other entities, as these companies have confirmed.
It is now clear that false allegations such as these are part of a concerted campaign of political sabotage to topple a democratically elected Prime Minister.
At no point have those making these allegations offered any evidence. All we have heard is that these allegations are based on leaked documents and unnamed investigators. Not once has the source of these documents ever been shown, neither have the documents themselves been provided for verification by lawful authorities.
As we now know, a number of the documents on which recent allegations have been based were reportedly doctored. The person who was leaking these documents is under investigation by authorities overseas for attempting to extort and blackmail his former employer. This says a lot about the reliability of the documents, and those who are using them to damage our government and our country.
Those who continue to mount these attacks should be prepared to face the consequences of their actions. These gutter tactics – in some cases criminal tactics – to overthrow the government will fail. Where appropriate, they will be met with the full force of the law.
It’s a shame that these false attacks motivated by self interest come at a time of unique opportunity for Malaysia – with our Chairmanship of ASEAN this year, and the prize of developed nation status around the corner. I will stay focused on the work of nation building for the people.

Blogger says Najib’s Facebook is now his ‘Hatebook’
There is a deluge of negative comments on the prime minister’s Facebook page in the wake of several scandals that are hounding him.
KUALA LUMPUR: Blogger Syed Akbar Ali has said that Prime Minister Najib Razak’s public relations team should advise him to shut down his Facebook page since it was being inundated by overwhelmingly negative comments that have rendered it more like a “Hatebook”.
“I think his PR team, Media team, Social Media team etc are part of an internal conspiracy inside the PMO to embarrass and topple the PM,” he said cynically in his blog OutSyed The Box.
“They are not doing anything about all these negative and abusive comments on Najib’s Facebook. It is best to just shut down Najib’s Facebook page.”
Syed discovered the deluge of negative comments after being told by a friend about it.
True enough, most of the comments were nasty insults from outraged netizens who lambasted Najib for the various scandals attached to his name.
Syed warned Najib that he should “never underestimate the power of men and women determined to tell the truth”.
