WHILE WE ARE CELEBRATING CHINESE NEW YEAR, THEY GRIEVE…
MH370 family blocked thrice in bid to see Liow

For the Chinese, the lunar new year is a time for family members to reunite.
However, for those who lost their loved ones in the MH370 incident last year, this year’s festival is a sad occasion.
Particularly for 20 MH370 next-of-kin from China who were blocked three times before being able to meet with Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai.
They came to MCA headquarters today to attend MCA’s Chinese New Year open house event, hoping to meet Liow, who is also the MCA president.
Jiang Hui, one of the relatives, told Malaysiakini that they arrived at MCA headquarters at about 10am but was blocked by a group of security guards and policemen.
They were stopped at the building next to MCA headquarters, he claimed.
The next-of-kin did not understand Malay and hence couldn’t follow the explanation by the police.

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia (AFP) – Chinese relatives of MH370 passengers gathered outside the Malaysian prime minister’s office on Wednesday to demand his government rescind its declaration that all on board the plane were presumed dead.
“We want an explanation from (Prime Minister Najib Razak). And we want him to cancel the declaration that the incident was an accident,” said Kelly Wen, a Chinese national whose husband was on the Malaysia Airlines flight.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 — Determined to get answers from Malaysia Airlines (MAS) over the fate of their loved ones aboard Flight MH370, a group of Chinese families have decided to stay the night outside the airlines’ office in Subang Jaya.
The group has reportedly been gathered there since this afternoon, and will stay put until the flag carrier issues its response to their queries.
A statement from Voice370, the self-styled support group for families of those onboard the missing plane, alleged that the group was not provided food or shelter by MAS.
It claimed that out of concern, families of MH370’s Malaysian passengers sent them dinner.
Unhappy with Malaysia’s declaration last month that the plane was an accident with no survivors, around 15 Chinese relatives arrived in Malaysia late Wednesday night with questions over the flight for which no evidence of its fate has been found.
Dressed in red shirts printed with the words “Pray for MH370”, they have not forgotten even as international attention has died down over what is viewed as a mystery in aviation history.
“Who can tell us what happened? Please help us! Come back MH370,” read a placard, summing up their emotional plea.

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) – Chinese relatives of those on board missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 protested outside the carrier’s office on Thursday demanding Malaysia withdraw a statement declaring all the passengers dead.
The Malaysian government last month officially listed the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 as an accident and said all 239 people on board had perished in a move it said would pave the way for compensation claims.
However, the announcement immediately sparked outrage among distraught family members who have shunned offers of compensation.
