Cops arrest woman who allegedly whipped daughter’s rapist
KOTA BARU: The police have the arrested the woman who allegedly whipped a suspect that raped her 13-year-old daughter.
State CID chief Asst Comm Lai Yong Heng said the woman, 38, was arrested with her husband, 40, and 22-year-old son on Friday night.
“The three suspects were arrested at their home Kampung Gong Bayor, Kampung Raja, Terengganu at 9pm, by a CID team from the Kelantan police contingent.
“They have been remanded under Section 326 of the Criminal Procedure Code for seven days to facilitate investigations.
“The police are doing their duty to uphold law and order, despite the reaction from the public who sympathised with the suspects.
“They allegedly caused grievous hurt to the suspects, which is a serious crime, and it is natural for the police to act and investigate the case,” ACP Lai said when contacted on Saturday.

Video of mum whipping alleged rapist goes viral
KOTA BARU: A shocking video of a woman publicly whipping the alleged rapist of her 13-year-old daughter has gone viral and she is likely to be charged with taking the law into her own hands.
The 37-second clip shows the woman flogging the man whose hands and legs are tied up and pants pulled down to expose the buttocks.
She is seen using what looks like a stick or a cane to hit the man on his backside, body and head and scolding him as a crowd watches.
The incident was reportedly recorded at Pantai Seri Tujuh, Tumpat, at about 5pm on Thursday.
State CID chief Asst Comm Lai Yong Heng confirmed that police had viewed the footage and were identifying the people in it.
He said the 28-year-old man who was whipped was admitted to the hospital for injuries on his head and body.
The man was later arrested along with another suspect, aged 22, in connection with the rape of the 13-year-old girl in Tawang, Bachok, on May 22.
The 22-year-old man was also assaulted by a group of people before he was handed over to the police.

Turut didakwa merogol mangsa adalah rakan lelaki terbabit. Sumber itu berkata, kerana marah, keluarga mangsa mencari suspek sebelum seorang daripadanya dikesan berniaga di Pantai Seri Tujuh, Tumpat.
“Sebaik melihat mangsa, kumpulan individu terbabit terus menyerang dan melucutkan seluar mangsa sebelum memukulnya dipercayai dengan rotan sambil disaksikan orang awam,” katanya. Perlakuan itu turut dirakam pihak tertentu dan dimuat naik sebelum tersebar secara meluas di Internet sejak semalam.
