A non-governmental organisation said today it has provided the police with the identity of an individual who had been inviting people to a gathering at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur to allegedly overthrow the government.
Persatuan Muka Buku Pulau Pinang said it gave police the name of the individual and identity card number when it lodged a report at the Lebuh Pantai police station in George Town on the proposed gathering.
Its chairman, Salleh Ismail, said the NGO identified the individual from a Facebook account.
“In our police report, we provided the name of the individual and identity card number to help police in their investigation,” he told reporters after making the report.

Angel Teh Onn Liew was arrested for approaching the stage.
Prior to being arrested, Teh told reporters that she had wanted to inform Najib and Lim about her plight, allegedly involving how her land was taken away from her by illegal means.

A commotion broke out at the national level Christmas day open house event in Penang resulting in the arrest of a senior citizen and a local activist.
Angel Teh Onn Liew, who is in her 50s, was arrested after trying to approach the VIP stage twice to hand a thick document to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.
Teh was dragged away after finding her way to the stage the first time for questioning by the police.
However, she managed to find her way to the stage a second time, resulting in her being handcuffed and brought to a mobile police station.

PM graced the national level Christmas open house in Penang
GEORGE TOWN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak graced the national level Christmas open house at the Esplanade today.
It was a hive activity as Najib arrived amid loud cheers from a big crowd under a sunny afternoon about 3.30pm.
He was greeted by Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup and other state dignitaries.
