KL High Court sets Nov 19 for trial of man charged with murdering businessman
KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — The High Court here today set seven days, beginning November 19 for trial of a man charged with the murder of a businessman, who was believed to have been abducted before his body was found at the lobby of a hospital in Ampang early last year.
Judicial Commissioner Datuk Azhar Abdul Hamid set the dates during the case management today.
The accused, Tariq Hussin Akhtar Husin, 37, and another person still at large, were jointly charged with murdering Harris Morunting, 42,at a house in Jalan Seri Putra 2/5B, Bandar Sri Putra, Hulu Langat, here between 4.40pm on January 2, 2019 and 11.25am the following day.
The charge, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, provides the mandatory death sentence.
Deputy public prosecutor Annur Atiqah Abdul Hadi prosecuted, while lawyer Zamri Idrus represented Tariq Hussin. — Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR – Mahkamah Tinggi di sini menetapkan tujuh hari bermula 19 November untuk perbicaraan kes bunuh seorang ahli perniagaan yang mayatnya ditinggalkan di perkarangan lobi sebuah hospital di Jalan Ampang, awal tahun lepas.
Pesuruhjaya Kehakiman, Datuk Azhar Abdul Hamid menetapkan tarikh itu semasa prosiding pengurusan kes hari ini.
Tertuduh, Tariq Hussin Akhtar Husin, 37, dengan seorang lagi yang masih bebas didakwa dengan niat bersama telah membunuh Harris Morunting, 42, di sebuah rumah di Jalan Seri Putra 2/5B, Bandar Sri Putra, Hulu Langat, di sini, antara 4.40 petang, 2 Jan dan 11.25 pagi, 3 Jan 2019.
Tariq Hussin mengaku tidak bersalah atas pertuduhan itu mengikut Seksyen 302 Kanun Keseksaan yang memperuntukkan hukuman mati mandatori, jika sabit kesalahan.
Pendakwaan dikendalikan Timbalan Pendakwa Raya Annur Atiqah Abdul Hadi manakala tertuduh diwakili peguam Zamri Idrus.
Awal tahun lepas, media melaporkan mangsa dipercayai dilarikan beberapa suspek dari rumahnya akibat pertikaian berhubung isu pelaburan mata wang kripto bitcoin dan suspek didakwa menghubungi isteri mangsa sebanyak dua kali pada dua hari berlainan untuk meminta wang tebusan RM600,000 dan wanita itu sempat mendengar suara suaminya menjerit sebelum panggilan diputuskan.
Pihak polis menerima maklumat berhubung mayat mangsa yang ditinggalkan di lobi bahagian kecemasan sebuah hospital swasta di Jalan Ampang pada 3 Januari tahun lepas dan hasil pemeriksaan forensik mendapati mangsa luka pada tubuh dan kepala dipercayai akibat dipukul. – MalaysiaGazette

Politician’s brother among four charged with murdering businessman
KAJANG: Four men, including the younger brother of a politician with a “Datuk” title, have been charged with the murder of a businessman.
Tariq Hussin Akhtar Husin, 37, appeared before the magistrate’s court here with three other men.
The other three were Masysar Ahmad, Saiful Anuar Shaari and Muhammad Syafirul Hazlan Zainal, all aged 27.
They were charged together with a man still at large with murdering 42-year-old Harris Morunting at a house at Jalan Seri Putra 2/5B, Bandar Seri Putra near here.
The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
No plea was recorded.
DPP R. Siamalar did not offer bail.
It was reported that a businessman was abducted from his home in Bandar Seri Putra in Kajang over a dispute involving a Bitcoin investment.
The kidnappers contacted the wife and asked for a RM600,000 ransom.
The businessman, however, was found dead and his body was left at the lobby of the emergency department at a private hospital in Jalan Ampang on Jan 3.
