WHAT AN INSULT 4 SHAHRIZAT! ‘BANDAR TUN RAZAK IS NOT A ‘TRASH CAN’ – UMNO INFIGHTING RAGES ON, HER OWN PARTY-MATES REJECT HER EVEN BEFORE HER CANDIDACY IS CONFIRMED http://www.malaysia-chronicle.com/?p=104708

Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil may be popular among her wing’s 1.3 million members, but news that she will contest in Bandar Tun Razak has not gone down well with some in the division and Federal Territories Umno.
The division had been pushing the BN leadership to give the traditional MCA seat to Umno, with hopes that Bandar Tun Razak Umno chief Rizalman Mokhtar would be the candidate.
While they succeeded in wresting the seat from MCA, they are now saddled with an outsider after Rizalman’s chances were torpedoed by an arrest last week.
Unhappiness among the Umno grassroots is best captured by former division secretary Zaharin Mohd Yasin, who in a Facebook posting yesterday, said Bandar Tun Razak was not a dumping ground.
“The Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat is not a trash can. We want an Umno candidate from our own division,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, a party insider told Malaysiakini there were concerns that the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal would also be used against the party should Shahrizat contest.
Shahrizat: PM left it to me to decide whether to contest, and where
GE14 | Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil is not revealing yet whether she is going to contest in the 14th general election, nor which constituency she is going to stand in if she does.
She said Umno president Najib Abdul Razak had left the decision to her after their latest discussions.
“However, firstly, I have to consider whether I want to contest or not…I will let you know,” she told reporters after a ‘Selami Kasih Yayasan Kebajikan Negara’ programme in Bentong today.

Shahrizat dismisses ‘preposterous’ rumours she’ll stand in Putrajaya
WANITA Umno head Shahrizat Abdul Jalil has dismissed rumours that she will contest the Putrajaya parliamentary seat in the 14th general election.
Shahrizat, who is also Kepong Wanita Umno division head, described the claims as “preposterous”, saying Putrajaya MP Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor was a highly respected leader who had shown great concern for the people in the Federal Territories.
“I’ve said it before: stop the speculation on candidates and where they will contest.
“As head of Wanita Umno and Wanita Barisan Nasional, my duty is to ensure that the Wanita machinery is well-established.

She may return but for a safe seat, Sungai Besar.
On rumours that she would contest the Sungai Besar parliamentary constituency, Shahrizat said: “I am hearing various rumours. Thank you for saying I will be contesting here and there, in politics it is nice to know people want us. But it all depends on my boss (Najib).”

Nurul Izzah dares Shahrizat to rematch in Lembah Pantai
Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar is unfazed by her predecessor Shahrizat Abdul Jalil’s claims that she is “afraid” to defend the seat for a third term.
Instead, she challenged Shahrizat to a rematch to their 2008 contest, in which the then debutante Nurul Izzah deposed the Wanita Umno chief.
“I welcome Shahrizat to come contest in Lembah Pantai,” Nurul Izzah told Malaysiakini.
She also reiterated her stance that as Lembah Pantai MP, she would defend the seat unless PKR wanted her to contest elsewhere.
Yoursay: If there’s no ‘cheating’, Shahrizat should be the one afraid
YOURSAY | ‘The contest will be a lame sequel, like watching ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.’
Clever Voter: It’s quite obvious Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil has forgotten why she lost the support of the thousands of voters in Lembah Pantai in 2008.
A mixed constituency, the majority of the voters were turned off by her arrogance – so unashamed of her role in the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal.
Rico Suave: So the battle for Bangsar hots up again. I remember standing outside the school, waiting for the official count – although I don’t vote in Lembah Pantai, it was one of the seats that went down to the wire.
I remember the yellow bags of allegedly ‘extra’ votes brought in. And yet PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar still won.
To ensure a victory this time around, Bukit Aman is going to be lumped into Lembah Pantai by the Election Commission (EC) to sway the vote in BN’s favour.
Thousands of votes for free. It looks like they won’t be needing those yellow bags next year.
Like everything about this coming election, it will be a tiresome retread of GE13. The stakes might be higher and it will probably be dirtier.
But with the candidates put forth, it will turn out to be a lame sequel, like watching “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Not Convinced: The Election Commission has moved the Bukit Aman police headquarters, with over 6,500 voters, into Lembah Pantai from the neighbouring constituency of Segambut.
Clearly, this is designed to ensure Nurul Izzah’s defeat. Should EC’s new delineation, which is being held back thus far by legal action, is pushed through, it would deliver an almost certain defeat for Nurul Izzah.
If BN plays fair, the opposition would win hands down. Not just in Lembah Pantai, but the rest of the country as well.
AJ: Millions have been lost because of the cow affair. The people’s money has been squandered in the NFC scandal, and her family has been enriched.
Shahrizat must take the people of Lembah Pantai as fools for even considering the possibility of electing her party in again. Cheating is the only possibility for them to win the seat.
I hear Nurul Izzah is afraid to defend her seat, says Shahrizat
Shahrizat, who is now the Wanita Umno chief, claimed that she has heard talk of Nurul being afraid to defend her seat, which she retained in the 2013 polls, in the coming general election.
Confident that the seat can be recaptured, the former minister claimed to have received complaints that the incumbent is not doing work in the constituency.
“Everywhere I go, the voters complain about an absent people’s representative. I don’t know whether this is true or not, but this is the feedback.
“I heard she’s afraid to contest in Lembah Pantai, so it’s better for (former federal territories and urban wellbeing minister) Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin who has been acting as a people’s representative.
“Most opposition candidates are absentees and only spew rhetorics,” she told a press conference at the sidelines of the Umno general assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.
