Another pastor allegedly missing, cops hit brick wall

Police have hit a brick wall in their investigations into the alleged disappearance of another pastor, Joshua Hilmy and his wife.

“We have already interviewed the complainant, and the problem is the complainant cannot give us any information about them.

“He (the complainant) doesn’t know the car plate number or their address, something that would give us a head start,” Petaling Jaya police chief Mohd Zani Che Din told Malaysiakini.

Malaysiakini had sighted a police report lodged on March 6 by someone claiming to be close friends with Joshua and his wife about their alleged disappearance.

He claimed there was a huge likelihood that the pastor and his wife had been missing since November last year as he had not communicated with them since then.

“This is not normal because we often keep in touch and contact each other at least a few times every month.

“Since November 2016, he hasn’t contacted me and my attempts to contact him have failed until today.

“For these reasons, I believe that he and his wife are missing and I am very worried about their safety,” the report read.

The man who lodged the report said at first he thought the pastor and his wife had gone on vacation as they were prone to do so with little notice.

However, after speaking to other friends of the couple who were also concerned about their possible disappearance, he was advised to lodge a police report on this matter.

He also confirmed that the police had questioned him but he was unable to provide them with much information about the pastor and his wife.

“Two months ago, his number was with me. I tried calling (him) and I never got any replies.

“Then after some time, I deleted the number so I don’t have the number anymore,” he said.

The couple also do not have many relatives he could contact, he said.

Unfortunately, and in a worrying trend for all of Malaysia’s Christians, Pastor Raymond is not the only Christian leader who has been abducted recently. According to locals, Pastor Joshua Hilmy….went missing on November 30, 2016. He had received threatening phone calls in the lead-up to his disappearance… His car is also missing and his family have no idea of his whereabouts.
