Ibrahim Ali was Mahathir’s man. He became Najib’s man.
Why did Perkasa side Najib against Mahathir? Is it because Perkasa received a bribe?
Look at the entries in June 2011 and April 2012 under Negri Sembilan chief Ruslan Kassim of Perkasa.

KUALA LUMPUR: Perkasa today proposed the government to be transparent and truthful in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) probe.
Perkasa president, Datuk Ibrahim Ali said the probe is necessary to stop any speculation about the state of affairs concerning the national strategic development company.
“Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak administration must expedite all investigations concerning 1MDB which is under the purview of the Royal Malaysian Police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for the rakyat in the country.
Datuk Ibrahim has urged the government to seek explanation on some matters from the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) after it filed lawsuits seeking to seize dozens of properties linked to 1MDB.
“Firstly, it is about the identity of an individual known as ‘Malaysian Official 1’ and described as “a high-ranking official in the Malaysian government who also held a position of authority with 1MDB”.
“Subsequently, it is about the relation of ‘Malaysian Official 1’ with Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz, a Malaysian whose name had been repeatedly mentioned in the writ of summons. The explanation is also necessary as the name, ‘Malaysian Official 1’ mentioned in the document cited the latter as related to Riza,” he added.

Ibrahim Ali: Perkasa infighting between pro-Najib, pro-Mahathir camps under control
KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 — Perkasa said it has managed to contain the strife between the factions supporting Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Datuk Ibrahim Ali, president of the Malay lobby group, admitted that disagreements between both camps backing the former prime minister and prime minister respectively surfaced online when he attended the March 4 launch of the “Citizens’ Declaration” led by Dr Mahathir that called for Najib’s removal.
But he insisted that only a few Perkasa members publicly aired their differences of opinion and stressed that although he attended the event, he did not sign the Citizens’ Declaration.
“They issue statement lah, for example, ‘We don’t agree [with] Perkasa president attending that function’.
“But there are Perkasa members who are Umno members [who say] ‘why Ibrahim Ali goes and don’t sign, you should sign’ — they want to support Dr Mahathir. And then there are those ‘why you go, you shouldn’t go, we have to support Datuk Najib’,” Ibrahim told Malay Mail Online in a recent interview.
Ibrahim said, however, that the majority of Umno members in Perkasa were silent on the conflict between Dr Mahathir and Najib.
“The only noisy (one) is the one supporting Najib and also strong supporters of Dr Mahathir, but now [it’s] under control,” he said, adding that about half of Perkasa’s membership is from the Malay ruling party.
