Port Dickson: Division Telok Kemang expressed regret ‘extreme’ at the action 13 branches held a press conference yesterday urged Umno president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak resigned.
Head of Division, Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad said, therefore it would send a report to the disciplinary committee to take action.
Port Dickson: UMNO Bahagian Telok Kemang menyatakan kekesalan ‘teramat sangat’ berhubung tindakan 13 cawangan parti mengadakan sidang media semalam mendesak Presiden UMNO yang juga Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak meletak jawatan.
Ketua Bahagiannya, Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad berkata, sehubungan itu pihaknya akan menghantar laporan kepada Jawatankuasa Disiplin parti untuk mengambil tindakan.
Katanya, tindakan mereka berkenaan dianggap sebagai ‘lalang’ kerana pada Mesyuarat Perwakilan lalu tidak menyatakan usul mengenai peletakan jawatan terbabit.

13 Umno chiefs broke agreement to back Najib, says Isa Samad
The 13 Negri Sembilan Umno branch chiefs who yesterday urged Datuk Seri Najib Razak to step down from leading the party have disrespected a “mutual decision” to support the party leadership at a recent division meeting, Telok Kemang Umno chief Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad said.
Malay daily Sinar Harian reported Isa as saying that while the grassroots leaders had the right to speak out, they should have done so during the Teluk Kemang division meeting recently.
“Supposedly, if they don’t support the party president (they) should have said no in the meeting recently, when tabling the motion of support for the party leadership,” Isa was quoted as saying by the newspaper.
“Their actions (yesterday) are disrespectful of the mutual decision that was agreed upon,” he said, adding that all branches had anonymously stated their support for Najib.

KUALA LUMPUR – Thirteen Umno branch chiefs in Negeri Sembilan have put their heads on the chopping block by openly asking for Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to resign, saying they had lost confidence in his leadership.
The 13 branch chiefs from Telok Kemang in Negeri Sembilan said they were calling for Datuk Seri Najib’s resignation in order to save Umno from disaster at the next general election due in 2018, the Malaysiakini news website reported. The group made the announcement at a press conference on Saturday (Oct 24).
“We always pray for the best for our party president, but with the short time we have left for the next general election, this is not the time to be sentimental,” Taman Telok Kemang branch chief Kamarul Azman Habibur Rahman said. “Umno is now seen as a party that has failed to settle its own problems,” he added.
While the group made up a small fraction of Umno leaders, their announcement showed that Najib still has some way to go to smooth feathers in his own party, coming after a recent poll showed public support for his leadership has been eroded. Umno has more than 20,000 branches under its 191 divisions.
Recent polling saw nearly four out of five Malaysians saying they are unhappy with the Najib administration, largely due to its handling of the economy.

PORT DICKSON, Oct 24 – Thirteen branch chiefs of the 54 Umno branches hold a press conference in the Telok Kemang division at Port Dickson Golf Club, Negri Sembilan here today declared they had lost confidence in Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak’s leadership and urged him to step down as party president in order to restore Umno’s credibility before the next general election.

“I think there are three categories of Umno members, those who know what is happening and remain silent, those who oppose what was wrong and get rich, and those who fight for the truth and go nowhere. We are the third category,” he said, adding that former Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was the best person to replace Najib.
