Police detained a suspect to assist investigation on a semi-naked woman found in drain

Sabah Deputy Commissioner of Police Datuk Awang Sahari Em Hadzeer said the local man who is in his 20s was arrested this morning.
“The police are investigating whether the man, who knows the victim, had raped her
“We are also looking into the possibility of others’ involvement in assaulting the women,” he added.

Woman found unconscious in KK fighting for life
KOTA KINABALU: A woman who was found semi-naked and unconscious in a monsoon drain is a 28-year-old single mother still fighting for her life at a hospital here.

It is learned that the woman, who has an eight-month-old baby, had been sexually assaulted and suffered head and facial injuries.
Investigators are hoping to interview her to get more details about events leading to her attack
Sabah deputy police commissioner Datuk Awang Sahari EM Nadzeer said the woman’s male friend is assisting in the investigations.
The suspect, in his 20s, was arrested at about 10.30am Friday in the area where the woman was found along Jalan Bundusan in Penampang.
“We hope to make more arrests.
“We believe that the victim was raped as there were signs of forced penetration,” Awang Sahari said.
It is learned that the woman, a photocopy shop worker in Jalan Bundusan, would usually bring her baby to work but had left the child with her male friend at about 8am on Thursday in order to do other tasks.
The victim is said to have married a man under traditional customs at their home village but he left her before the baby’s birth.

Identiti wanita yang ditemui cedera parah dan terbaring di dalam parit tanpa pakaian oleh orang ramai di Penampang, tengah hari tadi, belum dikenal pasti.
Ketua Polis Daerah (OCPD) Penampang DSP Rosley Honden berkata mangsa kini masih menerima rawatan di Hospital Queen Elizabeth.
“Butiran (identiti) mangsa setakat ini belum dapat dipastikan sebab (mangsa) hanya diam dan trauma.
“Mangsa perlu sedikit masa untuk pulih. Harap bersabar,” kata Rosleh ketika memberi maklum balas kepada media melalui aplikasi Whatsapp.
Beliau berkata kes berkenaan disiasat di bawah Seksyen 326 Kanun Keseksaan kerana menyebabkan kecederaan parah. — BERNAMA

Naked woman found in Penampang drain

KOTA KINABALU: Police are investigating a case of a naked woman found unconscious in a drain near a seafood restaurant in Penampang. The woman, whose ‘body in the drain’ photograph was circulated via social networks was believed in her 20s, was found by passers-by at about noon on Thursday.
According to posts on the social media, it is believe that she was raped and also hit based on the bruises on her face but police have yet to confirm.
