Cook: I was beaten up by drunken cops over motorcycle
JOHOR BARU: A 17-year-old cook claimed that he was held at gun-point and beaten by two drunks who had introduced themselves as policemen.
Yeo Wei Lerk said he was going out for supper when he found that his new motorcycle had been chained by a Taman Desa Tebrau apartment security guard at around 2am on Monday.
“When I enquired with the guard over why my motorcycle was chained, he made a call,” said Yeo. “Then, two men who claimed to be plainclothes policemen, arrived shortly. They reeked of alcohol,” he said at a press conference.
“Without questioning me, one of them handcuffed me while the other hit my head and pushed me into a blue car and drove me to the Taman Pelangi Indah police station,” he said yesterday.
Yeo said when they got out of the car, one of the men hit him again and pointed a pistol to his head.
“Not only did their breath smelled like alcohol, the one who drove did it in a reckless manner,” Yeo said.
He said he was released two hours later when the duo decided that he was not linked with any motorcycle theft. Yeo lodged a police report the same day.
