HOW WONDERFUL, YOU MAY THINK. “No GST for RON 95! Hooray!”
“Hooray? Really”
We were tricked. Again.
Pre-Budget 2015, RON 95 was RM2.10@litre, and then the government increase the price to RM2.30@litre. That 20 sen rise is an increase of 9.5%! GST would have meant only a 6% increase.
No, we didn’t benefit. They took away more of our money and then re-assured us that they wouldn’t take any more (for now, anyway).
Gov’t fooling rakyat on ‘no GST for RON95’ BUDGET 2015 ‘The 20 sen hike on RON95 is more than GST imposed on it.’ http://fb.me/1vQKFlWoh
BUDGET 2015 The government is fooling the people with its proposed exemption of the goods and services tax on RON95 petrol, as the 20 sen hike recently is much higher than if GST is imposed on it, says Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin.
…
Najib yesterday announced there will be no GST imposed on RON95 petrol, diesel and liquified petroleum gas.
…
Meanwhile, Kedah PAS Youth said in a statement that it is time for the government to stop cheating the people that the fuel price hike is because of a hike in global oil prices.
Today, the wing said, the price of oil is US$90.73 (RM295.42) a barrel, compared with the July rate of US$103 (RM335.37) and the price is expected to drop further.
This information could be checked by any layman and this is public knowledge.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — Angry with the government for its alleged failure to address spiralling living costs in yesterday’s Budget 2015 announcement, several activist groups took to the streets in the national capital today demanding price cuts on a basket of goods and services.
Their chief beef was with the pump prices of fuel, which rose 20 sen this month, judging from the name they gave to their march today — “The 20 cent satire” — and vowed to carry out demonstrations on a weekly basis until the government accedes to their demands.
“Book vouchers are not enough and fuel prices are still a burden,” the protestors cried as they circled the Sogo shopping complex on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman here twice.
The protestors comprised mainly of three non-government organisations, Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM), Gerakan Turun Kos Sara Hidup (Turun) and anti-fuel price hike movement Protes.
A few student activists were also seen marching alongside, sending the group, which numbered about 50 at the start to roughly 200 by the end of their demonstration.

WHAT THEY TAKE AWAY: A HUGE AMOUNT!
34. In 2015, with the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Government revenue is estimated at RM23.2 billion. However, as a caring Government, we have exempted several goods from GST amounting to RM3.8 billion.
35. With the implementation of GST, the Sales and Services Tax (SST), will be abolished resulting in revenue foregone of RM13.8 billion. This means that after deducting RM13.8 billion and RM3.8 billion from a revenue of RM23.2 billion, the Government will have a balance of RM5.6 billion.
