Two injured in gas explosion in pub in Jaya One, PJ
KUALA LUMPUR: Patrons celebrating the arrival of Christmas at a pub in the Jaya One Shopping Mall in Petaling Jaya had a shock when an explosion ripped through the kitchen at about 1.30am Wednesday morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohamad Sani Harul said a patron and a worker in the pub suffered injuries to their bodies after being hit by shrapnel from the explosion.
Sani said both were receiving treatment at the University Malaya Medical Centre and reported in stable condition.

2 pub patrons injured in gas explosion at Jaya One mall
Christmas was more than a blast for some pub patrons injured in a gas explosion at a pub in the Jaya One Shopping Mall, Petaling Jaya, early today.

The latest explosion involving gas cylinders is one of many in the country over the last 12 months.
On September 11, six Myanmar workers were injured when 15 gas cylinders stored in a building in the Parit Bakar Darat Industrial Park in Muar, Johor, exploded.
In that incident, the victims were illegally transferring the gas from 14kg cylinders to 50kg cylinders in the building where 300 gas cylinders were stored.
In August, five students from a premier school in Seremban, Negri Sembilan, suffered minor burns to the hands and arms after a portable gas stove exploded.
