While the Special Branch claims that Pakatan Rakyat has been infiltrated by communists and  terrorists, some readers of Malaysaikini suggests that the Special Branch has been infiltrated by UMNO!

DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua asks, “Is Umno infiltrated by communist sympathisers?”

 PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu told The Malaysian Insider via SMS last night, “The SB’s (Special Branch) duties are merely to create fear among Malaysians so that Umno-BN can win the election.”

MP dares SB to name communist and JI ‘inflitrators’

RR: Communism is now a forgotten ideology. It died in the last century. China and Russia, once leading communist countries, are now capitalist oriented where many billionaires are being created.

It is therefore foolish on the part of the government and the police to harp on this matter and frighten the ignorant country folks.

Even JI (Jemaah Islamiah) is rejected in most Islamic countries. The recent elections in the Arab states show that the moderate Muslims have rejected the extreme and fanatical branch of Islam. Malays and all Malaysians will never accept JI’s version of an Islamic government in Malaysia.

I therefore call upon the home minister and IGP (inspector-general of police) to disband the Special Branch and to instead put these men to patrol the malls, housing estates and crime-infested areas to control the escalating crime where people are being knifed or murdered before being robbed.

The police are better off fighting crime than to waste resources on such worthless efforts.

Ethnicmalaysian: If anything, it’s clear that Umno has infiltrated the Special Branch, as well as all other key government institutions.

Why do they not keep their mouths shut and let people think they are stupid, but instead open them and remove all doubt? This is truly farcical stuff.

Ipohcrite: I think one can equally hurl accusations that undesirable elements have infiltrated the Special Branch, but then the SB will lodge a police report and have that person charged in court.

Ferdtan: If the Special Branch cannot reveal the names of JI members and communists infiltrating the opposition parties, then it can be concluded that the police force is just another arm of Umno.

The failure of the police to curb the increase in crime (to Umno, crime is only a perception) has damaged their reputation.

Now with this spin, which no rakyat is foolish enough to believe, the police are making themselves so ridiculous that they should be ashamed to be seen in uniform.

Soon mothers would scold their children wanting to be in the police force.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has issued a strong denial against claims from the police Special Branch unit that terrorists and former communists have infiltrated their parties, saying instead that the allegation was aimed at boosting Barisan Nasional’s (BN) chances in the coming polls.

Expressing shock at the startling allegation, PR lawmakers griped that the intelligence unit, tasked with collating information to protect Malaysia from perceived threats of subversion, “works for Umno”.

They pointed out that this likely meant that the accusation was made with the hope of instilling fear among pro-opposition Malaysians ahead of a general election that must be held soon.

“The SB’s (Special Branch) duties are merely to create fear among Malaysians so that Umno-BN can win the election,” PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu told The Malaysian Insider via SMS last night.

“The SB works for Umno. If communist or JI (Jemaah Islamiah) elements wanted an armed revolt, they would not use the election as their platform,” he added.

Special Branch chief assistant director of the E2(M) national social extremist threat division Mohd Sofian Md Makinuddin was quoted by national news agency Bernama on Thursday as claiming that JI elements were trying to infiltrate PAS while the communist elements were trying to infiltrate the DAP.

DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua denied the allegation against his party and accused Umno instead for being more in contact with the communists.

“As a matter of fact, Umno has had more interaction with the Chinese Communist Party than any PR parties with regular youth exchanges.

“Is Umno infiltrated by communist sympathisers?” he asked.

Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin had once established a direct formal relationship with the Communist Youth League of China

“The SB is showing its political hand to serve its BN masters and are trying desperately to justify their existence and perpetuate BN control over the masses,” Pua continued via Blackberry Messenger to The Malaysian Insider today.
