Dubbed the “Great Whites”, volunteer workers dressed in white personal protective equipment (PPE) have come into the spotlight on Chinese social media for doing the so-called rabbit dance. Often working under extreme conditions, workers dance to a cheery tune to start their day as they set out to perform various pandemic work ranging from patrolling neighbourhoods, delivering goods and carrying out Covid-19 tests for residents.
