Day of Shame

Today, May 28 is the day 122 years ago when the Eight-Power Allied Forces attacked Beijing City.

On May 28, 1900, Britain, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan and the Austro-Hungarian Empire (now Austria and Hungary) The coalition forces captured Beijing City, the Qing Dynasty fled to Xi’an. The coalition forces burned and raped the national treasures of the Forbidden City, Zhongnanhai, and the Summer Palace were looted. It was ruined irreparably.

The Qing court was forced to make peace.

On September 7, 1901, the Xin Chou Treaty was signed. The number of claiming countries increased to 11, adding Spain, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

May 28 is a national shame day for Chinese and Yan and Huang descendants.

Lest we forget

*I wish to highlight: The coalition forces burned and raped the national treasures of the Forbidden City, Zhongnanhai

I have a question for the Wumao who “love anything and everything China”, even the hated Qing dynasty: How do coalition forces (troops) rape national treasures? Do they mean the Qing palace concubines and eunuchs?
