‘Utter fear’: Gold Coast GP receives death threats from ‘anti-vaxxers’ after false claim of child vaccine deaths
Police investigate threats after Facebook posts claiming two girls died in waiting room incited ‘widespread panic’ in community

A Gold Coast doctor has been subjected to death threats and abuse and is living in “utter fear” of anti-vaxxers thanks to false reports that two children died in his clinic after being administered the Pfizer vaccine.
The Pacific Pines GP, Dr Wilson Chin, said “widespread panic” swept through his community when false reports spread online that the two children had died in his clinic.
The girls suffered what Chin described as a “normal” fainting episode while under observation at the clinic a fortnight ago and have since recovered.
But a post to a Facebook page purporting to be a “personaleyewitness account” wrongly claimed the girls had suffered “violent convulsions” and later died in the waiting room.
Another Facebook user posted false information describing the girls as “unresponsive when ambos got there” and encouraging others to share the post.
The backlash ultimately forced the clinic to pull out of the vaccine rollout of five to 11-year-olds after Chin and his colleagues received death threats, which have been reported to police.
Five to 11-year-olds joined the rollout on 10 January after vigorous TGA approval. As of 28 January, 35.98% of the national age bracket had received at least one dose of a vaccine.
In Queensland, though, the figure was 31.39%, trailing behind every state and territory except Western Australia.
The Queensland government has cited misinformation as a key reason for lagging vaccination rates and vaccine hesitancy in some areas.
In a lengthy Facebook post written after the misinformation spread, Chin said the “abuse and utter fear” he had faced via the practice’s phone and social media pages was “unbelievable”.
In one instance, a social media user urged for dogs to be set on staff, while another person encouraged residents to “get” Chin after work, labelling him a “murderer”.
“I have never seen anything like this before and it seemed never ending,” he wrote.
“They did this without attempting to confirm the facts and whether these deaths were real.”

Please bare with me as this is my first post in almost 5 years. I have been thinking of how to write this for hours including in my sleep.
I am writing this today not as a healthcare worker, not as a family doctor, but as a human being who has been trying to help a community the best way I can with skills and knowledge I have gathered throughout my life. This is going to be my story that I’d like to share to you all who are bothered to read this (you may want to grab some pop corn)
In the current society that we live in, a person thought it would be acceptable to lie about the death of 2 children after a pfizer vaccine which started recently for 5-11 year olds on Monday the 17th of January 2022; a day that I’ll never forget. They did this without attempting to confirm the facts and whether these deaths were real. This caused a widespread panic which rippled through my community like wild fire. For this reason, the incident had triggered 2 new channels to knock on my door to clarify what really happened.
I have been in touch with the parents every day since the children fainted, even before the news channels approached me. I can confirm they are doing very well and would like to ask everyone to respect their privacy please.
As soon as channel 9 and 10 left our practice, I called the family to check up on them. I gave them the journalists numbers and told them I would support whatever decision they made. I stand by their decision truly and am glad nothing else has gotten to them on my watch.
However the mass posts and comments that are asking them to speak to the news channel especially those of views against the vaccine has become very evident. If this was my family there would be no reason big enough to expose my loved ones to any of what we had to endure the last few days. The threats, the abuse and the utter fear from parents was unbelievable. I have never seen anything like this before and it seemed never ending.
I hope life goes back to normal now that the air has been cleared but I know a part of me will always wish that I had done more to protect any child from getting COVID-19 but was stopped by dishonest people out there.
If the family are reading this, I honestly wish you never had to endure any of this in the first place.
Thank you immensely so so much for all the heart felt messages and gestures shown to me and my colleagues from everyone in the community (including those living miles and miles away), the RACGP president, GPs down under FB group (You guys are awesome) and the Pacific Pines families whom I have had the honour of serving. I also want to thank the Police officers for what they have done to keep my beloved colleagues safe.
Everyone deserves to be treated nicely but the last few days I had been allowed to experience the utmost unforgettable positive attitude that humans can show one another.

Two more little angels taken by the jabs, just 12 minutes from where I live on the Gold Coast. Bet you won’t hear about this on the 5:30 – 6pm news!
Below is the gist of the story:
Extract from what looks like a tweet by Krystle Lee Candy: “This is so crazy I actually know this person she’s a very lovely lady and her 2 babies passed away. I am so sorry hun and I am here for u if u need me”.
Yesterday at the Pacific Pines MedCentre. 9.20am
A Mum, with 3 young girls was attending to have the girls vexed for [“C-word 19”] – I added the words incorrectly – just in case. The girls were aged 6-10.
While I was in the waiting room, the girls came back out of the room where they had been injected, to wait for 20 minutes to ensure they were ‘alright’. Within about 10 minutes one of the younger girls hands and face suddenly tightened, her neck muscles were straining and she started convulsing. She was uncontrollable.
The nurse screamed for Dr. Wilson Chin say “you’re the vaccine stand doctor, do something”. Then not more than 30 second later, the older girl, aged about 9, did exactly the same thing. Violent convulsions. The Mum was totally distraught. She was screaming in despair. The doctor could do nothing. All the Mum could say was “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry”.
Don’t know what happened to the 3rd young girl, but this makes me so angry, I just cried.
I looked up Dr. Wilson Chin, and yes, he practices at the Pacific Pines MedCentre at Shop 8, Pacific Pines Town Centre, 1 Pitcairn Way, Pacific Pines, 4211.
Editor: Every Premier of every state, the PM, the AMA and the TGA and many others are complicit in the murder of little kids (and many adults). Let us all pray we live long enough to see them at Nuremberg then the gallows. Dr Wilson Chin does practice at the above clinic.
