Teen model was KNOCKED OUT before she fell 14 floors to her death from drug-fuelled swingers’ party at wealthy American’s apartment, according to top British cop
- Model Ivana Smit, 19, was found dead after falling 14 floors in Malaysia
- She was at ‘swingers’ party of American Alexander Johnson, 45, and his wife
- British investigator says she received a head injury before she fell
- Report from pathologist states that it is ‘highly improbable’ that she fell over the balcony while intoxicated because of the injuries she sustained before she died
A British ex-cop says a Dutch teen model may have been knocked out before she plunged 14 floors to her death after a ‘drug-fuelled party’ in Malaysia.
Local cops said the death of Ivana Smit, 19, who was building a successful career as a model, was a drug and booze-fuelled accident.
But Mark Williams-Thomas, a private investigator who famously exposed the sickening crimes of Jimmy Savile in a TV documentary, says she received a head injury before she fell.

CCTV shows Dutch model being carried out of posh KL club
The picture emerges following investigations by a British private investigator, who believes Ivana Smit’s death was likely murder.

KUALA LUMPUR: A CCTV snapshot has emerged, showing Dutch model Ivana Smit being carried out of a high-end club in Kuala Lumpur, hours before her body was found on the balcony of an apartment in a case police have classified as sudden death by falling.
The picture shows a person who looks like a Caucasian male carrying Smit and walking towards the lift, in the early hours of Dec 7, the same day Smit’s nude body was found on the sixth floor of the 36-storey CapSquare Residences.
Smit, 18, was said to have stayed with an American and his Kazakh wife at the couple’s unit on the 20th floor.
It was reported that she had earlier gone out drinking with the couple in Bangsar before returning to their apartment.

A woman walks behind Ivana Smit who is being carried by a man, in this photo taken from a CCTV recording of a nightclub in Kuala Lumpur, hours before the Dutch model’s body was found on Dec 7, 2017.
The picture, with a time stamp of Dec 7, 5.22am, was made available with the help of a private investigator hired by Smit’s family, according to their lawyer Sebas M Diekstra.
Smit’s family, who disputed Malaysian police findings on the case, recently hired award-winning British criminologist Mark Williams-Thomas as their private investigator.
Last week, Williams-Thomas said he felt the case was likely murder, and alleged that there was a cover-up in the Malaysian investigation.
.
Police have classified the case as sudden death pending the results of the post-mortem and pathology tests, which have yet to be released.

Model Ivana Smit’s death definitely a murder case, says British PI
The private investigator claims there is nothing accidental in model’s death plunge in KL and it will be investigated as homicide had it happened in Britain.
.
GEORGE TOWN: The private investigator hired by the family of Dutch teen model Ivana Smit to look into the circumstances of her death in Kuala Lumpur says the case should be classified as murder
Mark Williams-Thomas said this in an interview with Belgium’s TV Limburg (TVL) yesterday following a week-long fact-finding mission in the Malaysian capital.
“I have no doubt. From the evidence that I have collected this week, and other information that we have through the forensics, we are in a position to say very clearly: If this was being dealt with in the UK, it would be treated as a homicide investigation,” he said in the telephone interview broadcast on TVL.
In a Twitter posting on Saturday, the former British policeman had promised to reveal more in his final findings.
Williams-Thomas, who won a Peabody Award for documentary work exposing TV and radio personality Jimmy Savile as a paedophile in 2012, had formerly worked on other high-profile investigations with the British police force.
.
Earlier, a pathologist who conducted Ivana’s second post-mortem had said he found bruises on her arms which he said were likely inflicted before her fall.
In his initial findings, Dr Frank van der Goot said the bruises on Ivana’s upper arms indicated that a struggle had likely taken place before she plunged to her death.
“We have also found drugs that might have been consumed long before her death,” he told FMT.
According to van der Goot, these included several highly toxic drugs.
Besides cocaine, he said traces of the para-Methoxymethamphetamine (pMMA) drug were found in Ivana’s system. The combination of pMMA with cocaine could be lethal, he added.

Dutch model’s death shows signs of a cover-up, says British private eye

A PRIVATE detective investigating the death of Dutch-Belgian model Ivana Smit here last year has said he is certain she was murdered, and has implied a police cover-up in the case, according to Dutch online newspaper, the NL Times.
Mark Williams-Thomas, a British private investigator hired by Smit’s family, said he “had no doubt” that the case would have been treated as homicide in the United Kingdom.
“I have no doubt. From the evidence that I have collected this week and other information that we have through forensics, we are in a position to clearly say: If this was being dealt with in the UK, it would have been treated as a homicide investigation,” he told Belgian broadcaster TVL.
Smit was found dead on December 7 after she fell from the 20th floor of a Kuala Lumpur apartment building which belonged to an American couple.
Her naked body was found on a balcony on the 6th floor.
Malaysian police concluded that the 18-year-old woman’s death was a tragic accident, which her family did not accept.
Dutch pathologist Frank de Groot did an autopsy on the body and concluded that some of the injuries she sustained were not consistent with a fall from a great height, according to the report.
Williams-Thomas, said to be in Malaysia now, told TVL that there were signs of a cover-up of the case, adding that Malaysia had a “massive” problem with corruption, according to the NL Times.
“We very clearly found out that clubs and individuals paid the police for protection,” he was quoted as saying.
.
“It was certainly not a tragic accident.”

KUALA LUMPUR: The family of the Dutch teen model who fell to her death from a condominium unit here last week have started a crowdfunding campaign to fund their own investigation into the incident.
Malaysian police have classified it as sudden death but are relooking the case after the family of Ivana Esther Robert Smit, 18, alleged that there could have been foul play. The Dutch embassy has also asked Interpol to investigate.
Ivana’s family are trying to raise €5,000 (RM24,113) through crowdfunding to bring a Dutch pathologist and an American investigator here to determine the circumstances that led to her fall from a building in the nude.
“Donations are needed for the funding of the pathologist and researcher who will travel to Malaysia to determine the cause of death, if it was an accident or a crime,” the family wrote on the Dutch crowdfunding site, Doneeractie.
“Please help the Smit family to find out the true facts about the tragic death of their daughter, sister, and niece, Ivana Smit.”
The model fell from the window of a 20th floor unit of an apartment and landed on the balcony of a 6th-floor unit, on Jalan Dang Wangi, here.

Report: Family says teenage model’s death in KL suspicious

PETALING JAYA: The Dutch government has asked Interpol to help investigate the case of a Dutch teenager who died after falling from a high-rise apartment in Kuala Lumpur last week.
DutchNews reported that the father of model Ivana Esther Robert Smit told the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper in the Netherlands that he had seen blue marks resembling fingerprints around his daughter’s neck when he viewed her body at the hospital morgue.
Following that, the Dutch embassy in Malaysia had asked Interpol to investigate the concerns raised by Ivana’s family.
Ivana, who was 19, died on the morning of Dec 7 after she fell from the window of a 20th floor unit of the apartment building, landing on the balcony of a 6th floor unit, on Jalan Dang Wangi.
An American man and his Kazakhstan wife, were with the victim in the apartment after they had gone out together the previous night.
However, Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Shaharuddin Abdullah said police have classified the case as sudden death, and did not suspect any foul play.
“Our investigations and the post-mortem report shows no elements of foul play,” The Star had quoted Shaharuddin as saying.
DutchNews said police had also told the family that Ivana was intoxicated at the time and blood tests revealed traces of alcohol, ecstasy and amphetamines in her system.
According to the news portal, camera footage from the apartment had shown Ivana entering the building with her American hosts at around 5am. She is believed to have fallen off the balcony at around 10am.
“Her last communication was a selfie sent to her boyfriend at around 7.25am, in which she said she had gone home with an American couple after a night out,” the report said.
However, her father contends that neighbours heard shouting and arguments from the apartment unit in question that morning.
“The police are doing nothing with that information and just want to tie up the case quickly,” he was quoted as saying by DutchNews, adding that the couple did not contact police until 3pm, five hours after the accident is thought to have happened.
