KJ: ‘Tan Sri trio’ police report nothing to do with Umno Youth

Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has distanced himself from the police report lodged by his deputy, Khairul Azwan Harun, over an alleged plot to topple Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Khairy said the police report was done in Khairul Azwan’s personal capacity, Bernama reported.
“The youth vice-chief lodged the report as an individual,” Khairy was quoted as telling reporters in Batu Pahat, Johor, today.
On Tuesday, Khairul Azwan filed a police report against former Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz, former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Abu Kassim Mohamed and former attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail.
Khairul Azwan said the three are believed to be involved in a conspiracy to overthrow Najib and the Malaysian government.
In his report, the Umno Youth leader said the three were suspected of providing confidential information to foreign agencies without authorisation, including the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
He also alleged that some of the documents submitted were falsified and the information twisted to achieve their agenda.
