76 years old lady begged Hri Kumar to help her get CPF money back
06:07

This is not a reality show. This is the tears of a spinster born in the year of 1938 who was devastated when she discovered the G took her savings to pay off her land tax @Bt Brown. I don’t think “they” dare to upload this video to the public. But I do! This is my recording of the truth, nothing but the truth & in tears! Can u feel her sorrows?

Allow me to air my anger about the lady in “sexy Cheong Sum” here bcoz I am seriously very put off by her attitude. Until now I still cannot get her off my mind….sue me if she’s unhappy with what I’m going to say and I am a woman who will honor my words. I cannot believe that the MP allows such a crazy lady to “call the shots” as u can see in this video, that she kept signaling the coordinators to send off that 76yr old senior citizen. She gave me a very bad impression as I witness her using unpleasant hand-signs & gestures to “instruct” her ppl to take action on the poor old lady — even when MP Hri Kumar himself did not hv the heart to cut her off from the mic. Who is she? She wasn’t even a representative from the CPF Board yet she abused senior citizen like that!

To my knowledge, her name card clearly shows that she is just a Financial Consultant from NTUC Income only! So how can this person be giving instructions without permission from the MP? Or unless she is a “family member” of…….WTH! 狗眼看人低!

PAP MP HRI KUMAR REJECTS ROY NGERNG AND KENNETH JEYARETNAM FROM HIS CPF DIALOGUE EVENT

Hri Kumar Nair promised to host a ‘honest’ dialouge session open to all where ‘hard’ questions would be dealt with. But all that changed when Kenneth Jeyaretnam and Roy Ngerng signed up. So much for constructive politics eh?

I first saw the event which was hosted entitled “CPF – An Honest Conversation: Public Dialogue with Thomson-Toa Payoh Residents” and I encouraged people with viable alternatives and suggestions for CPF to attend it. I called the event the closest thing we could get to having an “Open Discussion with the PM on CPF” which Roy called for. You can read my first blogpost here.

Soon after, Kenneth Jeyaretnam, Roy Ngerng, myself and few other supporters registered by accepting the online invitation which Hri Kumar Nair said was valid.

Many people doubted that they would allow Kenneth and Roy to participate in the dialouge, but they still did indicate their attendance.

And as expected, Hri Kumar Nair has walked down the same path. This was what he did.

1) He edited the privacy settings of the event page so that no one could see who was attending, might be going or invited.

2) He deleted all posts from Kenneth Jeyaretnam, Roy Ngerng and other opposition supporters from the event page. But to keep it from looking too ‘clean.’ He allowed the posts of Abdul Malik, a supporter of the PAP to stay.

Here are two posts that have been removed.

After the national anthem today, a man approached me. He put his hand on my shoulder, looked into my eyes and said,“Young man, when I was singing the National Anthem, I was crying. I felt like a true Singaporean after such a long time. CPF protest at Hong Lim Park sees crowd size of 6,000: organisers

[UPDATE on Saturday, 7 June at 7:15pm: Adding more details, quotes]

Thousands of Singaporeans attended the “Return Our CPF” protest held at Hong Lim Park on Saturday, calling for greater transparency and flexibility in the CPF system.

Organised by blogger and activist Han Hui Hui, backed up by volunteers, the event saw higher-than-usual attendance and support, being held amid the ongoing suit between Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and blogger Roy Ngerng.

By 5pm, more than 2,000 dotted the green in the area surrounding the stage, with scores more hiding from the sun in the surrounding shaded footpaths, field areas and even a nearby overhead bridge. Han estimated at the close of the protest at about 6:30pm that the crowd size had grown to 6,000.

“Singaporeans, there are 6,000 people here today,” said the 22-year-old, addressing the crowd from on stage. Adding in Mandarin that she is organising another CPF-related protest next month, Han asked those present to bring more friends with them, to take the numbers up to 10,000.

“We need to find out where all our money has gone. The government must be accountable for our hard-earned money!” she cried in Mandarin when she spoke earlier, to cheers from the crowd.

“What we want is for the interest (earned on investments) of our money to be returned to Singaporeans,” said Ngerng. “What we want is transparency and accountability… The CPF is our money. We the citizens of Singapore are the owners of our money, and of our country. It is our right to decide what to do with our CPF money,” he added, to roars of support from the crowd.

Roy Ngerng’s Speech at #ReturnOurCPF: I Believe In A New, United Singapore

Singapore at a Crossroads Today

Singapore has come a long way in our country’s history. Today, we are at a crossroads. How can our country continue to grow while our people will be taken care of, protected and be free.

As citizens who care for our country, as Singaporeans who have a stake in our country, it is our birthright, and it is our responsibility to speak up, and voice out so that we can create solutions for our country and better not only our lives, but that of our fellowmen.

After nearly 50 years, Singapore might have a First World economy and we have First World costs. But do we have a First World government? Do we have First World lives? Today, many Singaporeans struggle with our lives, earning the lowest wages among the high-income countries even as Singapore has become the most expensive place to live in the world. Singaporeans struggle to make ends meet and fear that we do not have enough to use.

But this shouldn’t happen. This shouldn’t be where Singapore is today, not when Singapore is now one of the richest countries in the world, where our politicians are the highest paid in the world. This disparity shouldn’t happen where our politicians are able to enjoy their lives while the common Singaporean struggle everyday for our own lives.

“If Your Treat Us Well, We Will Treat You Even Better”

No, we are not envious. We do not want more because we are envious. Singaporeans are a cool-headed people. We are people who will stick together through thick and thin with you, if we know that we can trust you. A Singaporean told me, “For us Singaporeans, if you treat us well, we will treat you even better”. We have integrity. We believe in justice. We believe in fairness.

But when you betray our trust, we will not hold back and we will not take kindly to it.

A government should protect its citizens. A government should put its citizens first and create policies to take care of its people and make sure that we can feel safe in our own country. A government has a responsibility, to listen to its people, to be humble and to work with its people to execute our demands. This is what a government should be doing.

When Singaporeans talk about the CPF, when we raise our concerns, it is the responsibility of the government to listen. Why do Singaporeans have to sell our homes just because we do not have enough to retire on? Why do Singaporeans have to sell our homes because we do not have enough to pay for our hospital bills? Why do our elderly Singaporeans continue to have to work because our CPF is not good enough for us to retire on?

If the CPF is not good enough, then can we still trust the government to take care of our CPF?
