Following the attempted demolition of the 101-year-old Sri Muneswarar Kalyamman Hindu temple in September, a new group will be formed to defend against any such future demolitions, says former Teluk Intan MP M Manogaran.
Manogaran said the Hindu Defence Brigade (HDB) will rope in youths to help defend Hindu temples as well as to streamline their management.
“It will also help instil discipline among the youths and Hindu community.
“It is not going to be offensive, it will be a purely defensive movement,” he told Malaysiakini when contacted.
The group accepted its first batch of 20 recruits at the same Kuala Lumpur temple yesterday, and it will be officially launched later this year, said Manogaran.

Hi,
My name is M.Vinothkumar from Mangadu, Chennai – 600 122, in our village there is a 200 years old Vishnu temple.
Some land brokers sold the land behind the temple and they fighting for demolish the temple to make a road. In our old circle map it’s showing the proof for temple, but the land broker’s new map they removed the temple mark and sold the land, now they are fighting to remove the temple. We don’t know how to move for further steps.
