The Case of the Mysterious Father Chen

________________________________________________

IS THERE A FATHER CHEN?

A booklet entitled “The Equity Report (CEC Election Fraud)” on the alleged irregularities and internal politics in the DAP polls was written by a Father Augustus Chen and was widely distributed in Penang.

The writer had claimed that both Kit Siang and his son Guan Eng had manipulated the vote tabulation during the election, prompting an investigation by the ROS after several reports were lodged by disgruntled party members.

The two main allegations of the fictitious , ‘Father Augustus Chen’ for the invalidation of the CEC elections, namely ‘753 absent delegates (mostly Indians)’ not given notice to attend and vote at the DAP Congress and the preposterous allegation of ‘547 phantom delegates (most from Penang)’ are downright lies,” said Lim Kit Siang.

DAP national legal head Gobind Singh Deo (pic) has given Umno-controlled daily Utusan Malaysia 48 hours to respond to a letter of demand over two defamatory articles.

The two articles headlined “At last the drama has ended” and “Kit Siang manipulated CEC elections?”, were dated August 17 and 18.

The first article quoted the Equity Report said to be written by a Father Augustus Chen, while the other report was that DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang had manipulated the party polls last December.

“The article quoting the Equity Report had no verification. Editor Zulkifli Jalil and reporter Kasthuri Jeevendran as well as Utusan Malaysia, have to answer all the allegations,” Gobind said at the party’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

DAP also wanted Utusan to reveal who was the real author of the booklet and has demanded for the apology within the stipulated time.

Utusan gets 48 hours to prove ‘Father Chen’ claims

The DAP has sent letters of demand to Utusan Malaysia, giving the Umno-owned daily 48 hours to prove the allegations it has carried against the party or face a defamation suit.

NONEParty leader and lawyer Gobind Singh Deo (left) told reporters today that the letters were sent to the publisher Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd, editor Zukifli Jalil and journalist Kasthuri Jeevendran.

Utusan had published claims from a booklet entitled ‘The Equity Report (CEC election fraud)’, purportedly written by Father Augustus Chen, whose existence the DAP has questioned.

“We give Utusan an opportunity (to show) where they got this information (and to) prove it. And if they can’t prove it, they must face the consequences in court,” said Gobind, who is the Puchong MP.

“If you want to republish information, you have to verify that information. We ask Utusan who is Father Augustus Chen? Have they met him? Have they verified his claims?

QED – “Father Augustus Chen” a sham, phantom and ghost and his booklet on DAP a tissue of lies and falsehoods

QED – “Father Augustus Chen” is a sham, phantom and ghost, and his booklet on the DAP “The Equity Report (CEC Election Fraud)” a tissue of lies and falsehoods.

The lies and falsehoods about “Father Augustus Chen” were so thick and free that he was even described as my one-time close associate and I had even been challenged to declare whether I still maintain a friendship with him.

he seven days given to “Father Augustus Chen” to surface to prove that he is not a phantom are past, and there is no ghost of a sign that there is such a person in Malaysia or on this earth. “Father Augustus Chen” is a chimerical and fictitious creature of the fancies and fantasies of the Umno/BN “DDD” (Demonise/Destroy DAP) propagandists and cybertroopers to cram about one hundred lies about the DAP in a 12-page booklet as a culmination of a seven-month DDD campaign over the DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) elections last December which had spawned a few hundred lies and falsehoods about the DAP in the UMNO/BN controlled media in the past seven months.

Father, who art thou?

GEORGE TOWN (Aug 7, 2013): Who is “Father Augustus Chen”, the purported writer of a booklet alleging irregularities in DAP’s elections last year?

While DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang has challenged Chen to come forward in a week to show that he is not a “figment of imagination”, one thing is for sure, the Penang Catholic Diocese has denied any connection to the author, who is said to be a local here.

Penang Bishop Emeritus S. Anthony said the diocese has no information on the identity of Chen, despite his ecclesial moniker.

“It can be anybody, but the Catholic Church definitely has nothing to do (with) degenerating another group,” he told theSun when contacted.
