Waiting for Psy: Will a Sequel be here, SOON?
_________________________________________________
This was the hand phone message shown by the Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi:
How did he know that the message came from Psy’s manager? Scooter Braun Projects is the company that manages South Korean megastar Psy. Did the message come from them?
Look carefully at the message again. It says “Fwd from Psy manager” and did not come directly from Psy’s manager. The one who forwarded the message is someone who calls himself “Dan”. Who is Dan?

YOURSAY ‘After the show was over, Psy spent three hours at a local Korean restaurant. Whoever was threatening his life must be working half day on that day.’
So the North Koreans want to assassinate Psy?

Psy dines at Korean BBQ outlet before taking off
From page 4 GEORGE TOWN: After a whirlwind 18-hour visit to the country, South Korean superstar Psy left Penang in a private jet.
Despite the brief visit, Psy managed to enjoy a meal at the Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant in Jalan Tanjung Tokong.
A source said that soon after his performance at the state Barisan Nasional Chinese New Year open house, he went to rest at his luxury suite in Evergreen Laurel Hotel at 1pm.
At about 4.40pm, he made his way to the restaurant, about 10 minutes from the hotel.
Word got out about his presence there and soon a group of fans, many of them Korean nationals, waited eagerly outside the place.
According to the fans, Psy waved at them but he was immediately escorted into the restaurant.

STOP tarnishing Penang’s image: Explain Psy’s death threats, Chang Yeow
Teng said the delay in Psy making his appearance was due to security measures to prevent an attempt on his life.
“There was an attempt on Psy’s life so the police had to act to secure the area since his tent was a distance to the stage, that’s why we ask the prime minister to come down from the stage,” he said.
He said Psy had received death threats if he came to Penang to perform.
Teng’s claims are serious and may be potentially damning for Penang and its image as a vibrant and popular tourist destination. If his claims are true, the intention of bringing Psy to Penang to boost its tourism image has created a negative perception for the state for being hostile and unsafe to international artistes and superstars.
As a Penangite, I would like to urge Teng and the Penang Police Chief to give us a full explanation on Teng’s claims and allegations. If the threats were received before Psy came to Penang, was there a police report made and what are the measures taken to ensure that Psy’s visit would not turn out disastrous for the singer and for the organizer.
I would like to urge the Penang state government and the local authority to lodge a police report against the allegations and investigate Teng’s claims thoroughly.
Penang’s image as a safe, popular and UNESCO World Heritage destination is at stake if the claims of an attempt on Psy’s life is not properly investigated.
I am sure most Penangites would like an explanation too.

Psy’s Penang fairy tale — Jaleel Hameed
FEB 14 — What? There was an attempt on Psy’s life in Penang?……
Apparently, this so-called attempt or threat forced the organisers to abort plans to have the South Korean rapper take part in a “yee sang” tossing ceremony with Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders at the Chinese New Year open house in Penang.
…………..
Psy came to sing “Oppa Gangnam Style” and he sang it twice. If he was in any danger, he wouldn’t even be on stage, would he?
The tale is just so bizarre. And it makes Malaysia look bad that the police only secured the area after Psy arrived for his concert.
Come on, sir. The police double check every place before the PM arrives. That’s standard operating procedure. Security for the PM is even higher than for Psy because our national leaders are more precious to us than any pop star.
So get the story straight, sir. What happened in Penang is just inept organisation and not a fairy-tale attempt on Psy’s life.
We all love Psy, that’s why BN brought him over. Who would hate him to even threaten his life, sir?
Come on, sir. Tell me a better story already.

WAS THERE AN ATTEMPT ON PSY’S LIFE OR WAS IT JUST A THREAT?
Does this BN-Gerakan guy understand the difference? Listen to him on the video. He said, “There was an attempt on Psy’s life…”
However, the CPO of Penang is quoted as saying, “We received information from Bukit Aman on Feb 10 that there was a threat to his (Psy’s) life…”
The same CPO is also quoted by the Malaysian Insider as saying, “We have received information of a threat to sabotage Psy’s performance…”
…..
…
THE PLOT THICKENS!
Penang state Criminal Investigations Department chief SAC Mazlan Kesah had said, “I did not know of any threats against Psy or anyone, this is the first time I am hearing this but perhaps this is handled by Bukit Aman.”
Now, his boss, Penang police chief Abdul Rahim Hanafi, says, “We received information from Bukit Aman on Feb 10 that there was a threat to his (Psy’s) life, so we stepped up security and escorted him, since he touched down in Penang International Airport until he left.”
When contacted, state CID chief Mazlan Kesah told Malaysiakini that he was not aware of any reports.
“I am not the right person to ask, please ask the CPO about this.”
DIPLOMATIC.

Penang police chief Abdul Rahim Hanafi confirmed that there was an attempt on the life of top Korean performer Psy when he arrived in Penang at about 7am on Monday.
………….
“Do you know what time he had to leave Penang? In the wee hours at 2am (on Tuesday).
“We made sure that he was safe and then we escorted him to the airport. He left the country safely after that.”
Abdul Rahim, however, did not elaborate on the attempt or on the identities of those who allegedly tried to harm the singer, who arrived there after a 20-hour flight from Brazil.
…………..
Abdul Rahim said seven policemen were assigned to guard Psy or Park Jae-sung during his trip in Penang, where the latter performed his famous four-minute hit ‘Oppa Gangnam Style’ twice to the crowd at the Han Chiang College on Feb 11.
The police chief confirmed that police had carried out a surveillance of the area and had advised BN to ask Najib and other leaders to leave the stage immediately after the lo shang (or yee sang) programme.
Attempt on Psy’s life real, says Penang CPO

Eh, better say Psy was gonna get kidnapped by aliens. Easier to believe.
—
Is this for real? Do you believe him?
Question: WHY DIDN’T PSY JOIN NAJIB AND OTHERS FOR ‘LO SANG’?
Penang BN chief Teng Chang Yeow said there was an attempt on top South Korean pop star Psy’s life, that’s why!
He is quoted as saying that “The police too had to make some quick surveillance and told us to tell Najib to come down from the stage quickly after the ‘lo shang’.”
But the police didn‘t know anything about that!

Police did not receive any reports of threats against Psy
GEORGE TOWN, Feb 14 — The police did not receive any reports of threats against Korean superstar Psy on Monday, said state Criminal Investigations Department chief SAC Mazlan Kesah.
“I did not know of any threats against Psy or anyone, this is the first time I am hearing this but perhaps this is handled by Bukit Aman,” he told The Malaysian Insider today.
SAC Mazlan said the whole Barisan Nasional Chinese New Year event went on smoothly with no untoward incidences despite the massive crowd.
“There was a huge crowd on that day so we had to keep security is tight to ensure the safety of the singer and also of the Prime Minister,” he said.
He said this could be the reason why the police had to secure the stage area on that day.
He was commenting on remarks by Penang BN chief that there was an attempt on the Korean superstar’s life which had forced the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to leave the stage before the former came up for his performance.
“As far as I know, there was no attempt against Psy or anyone on that day and everything was peaceful,” he said.

Penang BN chief Teng Chang Yeow said there was an attempt on top South Korean pop star Psy’s life, which is why Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak was asked to leave the stage earlier after the ‘lo shang’ programme at the coalition’s Chinese New Year open house at Han Chiang College on Monday.
“We were told by police, who told us they received information that there was an attempt on Psy’s life. That is why the crowd was placed quite far away from the stage.
“The police too had to make some quick surveillance and told us to tell Najib to come down from the stage quickly after the ‘lo shang’,” explained Teng (left) after attending Gerakan’s Chinese New Year open house in Jelutong today.
Teng said it was not true that there was an attempt on Najib’s life, as reported by Sinchew Daily, adding that he had been “misquoted”.
………….
The explanation that there was attempt on his life seem less plausible as Psy was later allowed to perform his four-minute hit song twice.

Penang BN chief Teng: Psy didn’t join in yee sang ceremony due to attempt on his life
By OH CHIN ENG

GEORGE TOWN: South Korean superstar Psy did not take part in the yee sang tossing ceremony during the Barisan Nasional Chinese New Year open house Monday because of information from the police that there was an attempt on his life.
State Barisan chairman Teng Chang Yeow (pix) claimed police conducted some quick surveillance before Psy could make an appearance on the stage for the ceremony at the Han Chiang High School field.
“There was a delay in the yee sang tossing session because we were told that there was an attempt on his life,” he said to reporters after the Jelutong Gerakan division open house in SJK (C) Beng Teik here Thursday afternoon.

Teng did not specify the nature of the threat or from whom.
He said the threat forced the police to signal to Najib to leave the stage.
