Nilai: Illegal settlement of Indonesians even had a makeshift school

..

..

SEREMBAN: Sixty-seven Indonesians without valid travel documents were detained in a joint raid carried out by several government agencies in a secluded area which had been turned into a settlement in Nilai near here early on Wednesday (Feb 1).

Negri Sembilan Immigration director Kennith Tan Ai Kiang said his team had to walk 1.2km through the jungle before they reached the area.

“There was also a school-like facility in the area where the children were taught the syllabus of a neighbouring country.

“The village was powered by several generators as it was located in a secluded area,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Debunk the Funk shows that “masks are source control”, so you’re wrong, James Cintolo (and you don’t know how to interpret what science says about masks)

..

..

Since people still don’t understand how to interpret what science says about masks, let me explain.
Masks. Are. Source. Control.

If someone tells you that masks don’t work, you can respond by asking, “what is the purpose of the mask?” If they respond with something like “protect the wearer from infection,” they are wrong. The purpose of a mask is to reduce the amount of virus you spread. Source control.

When someone is infected, they can shed viral particles out of their mouth & nose in the form of droplets and aerosols. These particles can linger in the air for varying amounts of time. When the air is saturated with enough particles you can become infected by breathing them in.

Masks reduce the number of particles that you spew out into the air every time you cough, sneeze, talk, and breathe. This means it takes much more time to saturate the air with enough virus to infect someone else. This making masks especially useful in poorly ventilated areas.

Can this be measured in a community setting? Yes, but it’s hard to do those experiments. They have been done in some form, though. And they support that masks offer a benefit. https://science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abi9069

However most RCT’s and community setting observational studies are going to be better designed to answer the question of how well a mask protects the wearer and not how well they protect others from the virus the wearer is shedding. So keep that in mind when interpreting studies.

Can this be tested some other way? Yes. There are several experiments showing that masks block a significant fraction of virus-containing particles. A few examples:
https://journals.plos.org/plospathogens/article?id=10.1371/journal.ppat.1003205
https://nature.com/articles/s41591-020-0843-2
https://science.org/doi/10.1126/sc

Masks are a cheap and easy to use tool for *reducing* risk that we can use alongside all of our other tools to reduce risk and save lives. They’re also more comfortable than a trip to the hospital or a ventilator down your throat.

If you don’t want to wear one, fine. But don’t spread lies about how effective or ineffective they are while pretending that you’re representing the science accurately.

Fake news regarding Thailand and Pfizer

..

..

Fake news based on edited video causes anti vaxxers to rejoice 😂😂😂

Breaking News :

Thailand to be first country to null and void contract with Pfizer with demand for billions of Thai sovereign fun ds in purchasing the fraudulent mRNA vaccine to be refunded for disbursement to Thais killed and injured by Pfizer mRNA experiment .

Thai politicians , MOH, and enablers of the fraudulent Pfizer vaccines will have to answer to Thai law which still has the death sentence.

..

Excerpts from:

No Evidence Thailand Vowed To Nullify Pfizer Vaccine Contracts!

There is really NO EVIDENCE that Thailand has vowed to be the first country in the world to declare the Pfizer vaccine contracts as null and void!

Fact #1 : The Video Was Edited To Remove Context

Like the second viral video, this video clip appears to be edited to remove some context. I confirmed that by watching and comparing the video clip to the full interview of Sucharit Bhakdi by Pascal Najadi.

It looks like the person who edited the video wanted to remove references to the fact that Bhakdi was talking to Thai activists and not Thai officials.

Here are my rough transcripts from the first video clip, with the removed parts highlighted in bold.

Let me tell you the wonderful thing that happened when we decided to go back to Thailand for a holiday, which was badly needed. This was the beginning of January this year. There are Thai activists in Thailand with whom we have been connected over the past year.

They said, if you come to Thailand… uh, I’m still a Thai by the way… I’m Thai-German… we will connect you with the authorities and advisors to the highest authorities in Thailand, and this is what happened.

So I have the opportunity, the first opportunity in three years, to talk to the top advisors of a government in any country.

And it was very, very impressive, because I laid out to them that this whole COVID-19 agenda is a fake, and why it is a fake, and I was able to lay out for them the proof that the COVID vaccinations were based on fraud.

Fact #2 : No Evidence Bhakdi Spoke To Thai Officials

As mentioned above, the viral video clip appears to have been edited to remove references to Thai activists, likely to convey the perception that Sucharit Bhakdi was speaking to Thai officials.

If you watch the full video or read the extended transcript above, Sucharit Bhakdi does not actually claim to have met any Thai official, never mind advisors to the royal family. He appears to have only met Thai activists who claimed that they can “connect” him with the authorities.

Fact #3 : No Evidence Thai Officials Plan To Nullify Pfizer Contracts

The full video, and the extended transcript above, shows that Sucharit Bhakdi appears to have spoken only with Thai activists, not Thai officials.

It’s time to make Kyle Rittenhouse pay, and those police officers and others, too!

..

Kyle Howard Rittenhouse is an American man known for shooting three men, two fatally, during the civil unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in August 2020 when he was 17 years old. At his trial in November 2021, a jury found Rittenhouse not guilty of murder and all other charges after he testified that he acted in self-defense.

Rittenhouse’s prosecution became a cause cĂŠlèbre for right-wing organizations and media. Following his trial, he attended several events hosted by conservative organizations and individuals, including a meeting with former president Donald Trump, television features with political commentator Tucker Carlson, and guest appearances at several Turning Point USA productions. Rittenhouse’s likeness has been used by fans to sell products, especially T-shirts. In 2022, he started a fundraising effort to sue media outlets in civil court for alleged defamation and announced a video game, Kyle Rittenhouse’s Turkey Shoot, to raise funds for legal defense.

Federal judge allows lawsuit against Kyle Rittenhouse to proceed

Politics Feb 1, 2023 6:57 PM EST

By —

Scott Bauer, Associated Press

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal judge in Wisconsin on Wednesday ruled that a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the father of a man shot and killed by Kyle Rittenhouse during a protest in 2020 can proceed against Rittenhouse, police officers and others.

The father of Anthony Huber, one of two men shot and killed by Rittenhouse, filed the lawsuit in 2021, accusing officers of allowing for a dangerous situation that violated his son’s constitutional rights and resulted in his death. Anthony Huber’s father, John Huber, also alleged that Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time of the shootings, conspired with law enforcement to cause harm to protestors. John Huber is seeking unspecified damages from city officials, officers and Rittenhouse.

U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman on Wednesday dismissed motions filed by Rittenhouse and the government defendants seeking to dismiss the civil rights lawsuit.

In allowing the case against Rittenhouse and the others to proceed, the judge said that Anthony Huber’s death “could plausibly be regarded as having been proximately caused by the actions of the governmental defendants.”

Rittenhouse had argued that the case against him should be dismissed because he wasn’t properly served with the lawsuit. Adelman dismissed that, saying that Rittenhouse “is almost certainly evading service.”

Attorneys and private investigators for John Huber spent over 100 hours trying to locate Rittenhouse, tracking down addresses in seven states, before they found the home of his mother and sister in Florida. The lawsuit was served on Rittenhouse’s sister, who said that he wasn’t home. Adelman said that was sufficient to qualify as being served.

“Rittenhouse has been deliberately cagey about his whereabouts,” Adelman wrote. “Although he denies living in Florida, he does not identify the place that he deems to be his residence.”

Who else but Nurul Izzah could do the job well and with integrity and independence?

..

Sarawak Report says:

Our comment

It is sad to see Malaysia’s democracy advocates going after Nurul Izzar because she has agreed to work as her father’s unpaid advisor.

Yes, the unpaid role will open doors for her to make the enquiries he is plaining on leaving her to do.  Yet, special advisors have been adopted by leaders everywhere being people they know they can trust to delegate/ arms length some of the volume of their work. Usually these are paid.

Nurul is not a nepotistic parvenu, in fact she could hardly be more qualified for the role. She is one of Malaysia’s most longstanding and experienced opposition politicians, who has suffered and battled harder than many salaried NGOs who know when to duck out of the line of fire when danger threatens. She has not had such luxury and has shown at least as much courage and steadfastness for the cause of reform as they – and paid the price.

Like her mother, Nurul has been much more than a daughter, working as an elected politician, key ally and indeed surrogate for Anwar during his decade in jail. Anwar knows how she was there when others, who may now be back on board, were writing him off and making themselves scarce when support was needed.

Nurul is experienced in politics, therefore, and an inspiring speaker who is a rare Malaysian figure on the international stage. How many other Malaysian politicians can draw a crowd like she can in London or New York? They admire her for her story, her charisma and for her proven capability and qualities as a leader.

She lost her seat. The circumstances are murky as to why, but as a top politician she was a top target for the ultimately unsuccessful PN coalition.

It is common for parties to seek out some role for loyal MPs who meet this fate. Usually, the role includes a salary.  However, given her relationship, she has foregone the remuneration that any other ex-PKR MP in her position would have accepted without a thought – or criticism from others either.

So, why has she been singled out for this attack as if her years of political service stood for nothing?  Why has there been so much anger and criticism over this appointment compared, for example, to glaring and recent examples where powerful politicians have awarded multi-million ringgit contracts to companies owned by the husbands of their daughters or passed on their own seat to their son or daughter like a family heirloom?

Are these issues too complicated with too much work involved to stand up and complain about or are the politicians concerned too mean to confront in the same aggressive manner?  Count the articles and the official NGO complaints made about those real scandals, compared to all the column inches filled over Nurul’s unpaid job.

Perhaps some reflection is needed on the wisdom of making a false equivalence by calling the appointment of Nurul Izzar “nepotism” compared to the custom of treating parliamentary seats as a family heirloom, or “cronyism” compared to the purloining of contracts for family members or those who provide backhanders in return.

More work is needed and more noise made over these glaring examples of genuine corruption in Malaysia from the paid NGO figures who have waxed so noisily over Nurul. After all, they can do so without danger now, thanks to the advent of the pro-reform administration that she has worked for more than most.
