Did you know that otters are natives of Singapore and have been around for over 25 years?
Around 170 smooth-coated otters have made this city-state their home, roaming freely through our urban space. With their round faces and fluffy bodies, these adorable critters have even been voted as Singapore’s 51st birthday mascots!
But… in recent years, their reputation took a dip.
From ravaging fishponds worth thousands of dollars to human attacks, could these otters actually be a ‘pawblem’?
Join Talking Point host Munah Bagharib as she dives into the world of otters, uncovering the trail of destruction left by these critters. Munah investigates if we should be taking more drastic deterrent measures towards otters and learns the cost of coexistence. Can man and otters truly strive in the same space?
When Albert Einstein Met Charlie Chaplin, The Conversation Was Hilariously Epic
The Nobel Prize committee recalled the meeting between Nobel laureate Albert Einstein and Hollywood star Charlie Chaplin in an Instagram post shared Tuesday.

Almost nine decades ago, one of history’s most renowned geniuses met one of the greatest comic artists of the world – an encounter that led to an unlikely friendship between the two. The Nobel Prize committee recalled the meeting between Nobel laureate Albert Einstein and Hollywood star Charlie Chaplin in an Instagram post shared Tuesday.
According to the Nobel Prize post, it was said that “Charlie Chaplin was the only person in Hollywood Albert Einstein wanted to meet.”
In 1931, Mr Einstein got the opportunity to meet the biggest name of the silent film era during the premiere of the film CityLights in Los Angeles.
Albert Einstein, still a German citizen at the time, had been traveling in the United States, according to The Atlantic. The world-famous physicist, who was at the height of his fame and had already won the Nobel, was introduced to Mr Chaplin at Universal Studios and later invited to the premiere of ‘City Lights’.
As expected, the meeting between the two geniuses led to some scintillating conversation. A memorable exchange from this conversation was shared by the Nobel Prize committee on Instagram:
“Einstein: ‘What I most admire about your art, is your universality. You don’t say a word, yet the world understands you!’
Chaplin: ‘True. But your glory is even greater! The whole world admires you, even though they don’t understand a word of what you say.'”
What he says is, that if Ukraine loses, an emboldened Putin will enter the Baltic states and Poland, NATO members, and then US sons and daughters will have to go to war. Victory in Ukraine will avoid that possibility. 2/2

Garland Hopkins intentionally left out what Zelenskiy said before that, and it was: "If Ukraine loses the war, Russia will invade NATO member states, then: “The U.S. will have to send their sons and daughters .." Hopkins manipulated what he said to change it's meaning.

In context, Zelenskiy is warning of Russian escalation: "The US is never going to give up on the NATO member states. If it happens so that Ukraine.. loses, Russia is going to enter Baltic states, NATO member states – and then the US will have to send their sons and daughters"
Justin Bieber has cancelled all of the remaining dates of his Justice world tour, following health issues. The 29-year-old singer had postponed the tour several times, telling fans last summer that he was suffering from facial paralysis, after a diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS). 2 days ago
Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a neurological condition caused by varicella zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox in children and shingles in adults. The virus can linger in your body for your entire life, even long after you have recovered from chickenpox, and reawaken to irritate and inflame the nerves in your face.
The syndrome is officially known as herpes zoster oticus; its more common name comes from the neurologist James Ramsay Hunt, who first described the illness.
Is there a link between the Covid vaccine and Ramsay Hunt?
After Mr. Bieber announced his diagnosis, a flurry of posts on social media speculated that receiving the Covid-19 vaccine had triggered his Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. Experts said these theories are misinformation.
“There is zero correlation that we have seen with any of the types of Covid vaccines with facial paralysis, whether it’s Ramsay Hunt or Bell’s palsy,” said Dr. Danielle Eytan, a clinical assistant professor of otolaryngology at NYU Lagone Health.
Ramsay Hunt was first described over one hundred years ago, Dr. Javaid said, and “Covid just recently came into our lives. It’s clearly not associated with Covid or Covid vaccines at all.”
Ramsay Hunt syndrome was first described in 1907 by James Ramsay Hunt in a patient who had otalgia associated with cutaneous and mucosal rashes, which he ascribed to infection of the geniculate ganglion by human herpesvirus 3 (ie, varicella-zoster virus [VZV]).16 Jul 2018
Clearly, Justin Bieber still doesn’t realize he’s been vaccine injured and is not getting the proper treatment. Likely won’t ever figure it out. What a shame. https://t.co/CDHnigyuqu
Justin Bieber's 'Justice' world tour canceled after several postponements https://t.co/2DAJ1NEqLs This kid needs to wake up to the fact that he's vaccine injured & work with doctors who will treat it appropriately. Ramsay Hunt = shingles outbreak = consequence of Covid vaxx.
He (Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean) also said the police have advised Mr Lee and Mrs Lee to reconsider participating in investigations, but they have since left Singapore and remain out of the country.
Hence, the police have commenced investigations into them for potential offences of giving false evidence in judicial proceedings, said Mr Teo.
He added that as part of the investigations, the police requested an interview with Mr Lee and Mrs Lee, which they initially agreed to attend.
“However, (they) later had a change of heart and refused to attend. Their refusal is disappointing,” he said.
He also said the police have advised Mr Lee and Mrs Lee to reconsider participating in investigations, but they have since left Singapore and remain out of the country.
The police have thus informed them that necessary steps would be taken to complete the investigations in their absence, added Mr Teo.
The persecution of my family by the Singapore Authorities continues unabated.
In June 2017, my sister Wei Ling and I said “We do not trust Hsien Loong as a brother or as a leader. We have lost confidence in him”. We said we feared the use of organs of the state against us and my family.
In July/August 2017, they prosecuted my son Shengwu, an economist at Harvard. After a drawn-out 3 year court case, the Singapore courts convicted him for ‘scandalising’ the judiciary.
In 2020, they prosecuted my wife over LKY’s 2013 will. I was the real target.
In 2022, Immanuel's prescribing habits declined, but were still off the charts. She wrote ~31k scripts for HCQ & 16k for ivermectin. A Duke U doctor says it verges on malpractice. Stella Immanuel sets an ominous record as most prolific hydroxychloroquine prescriber. 😮💨 Not sure this is the type of trailblazer I’d care to be but from what I know about Stella, I’m sure she finds this complimentary. 🤦♀️https://t.co/5W3QMQ7rZ4https://t.co/W7Kqagpflxpic.twitter.com/B3a662XfPp
While this article is important reporting, it falls short by—like so many before—failing to mention how excess prescribing of HCQ impacts patients who actually need & have been impacted by extremists like Immanuel since the drug first rose to prominence.https://t.co/I3nCpLIAYBpic.twitter.com/EYcje28HS4
Stella Immanuel & America’s Frontline Doctors excessive off-label prescribing peddled thru hateful, conspiracy laden rhetoric have certainly had repercussions for the people duped into purchasing proposed cures, & the salesmen should see consequence enough to end their scheme… https://t.co/qO4vfrgfE1
Wish I knew why, esp once IVM came on the scene, HCQ rly left general discourse; maybe it’s the horse jokes or that it’s easier to spell? (hint: abl*ism🫢) Regardless there’ve been plenty of indicators HCQ never left rightwing imagination—to the detriment of whom? We who need it. pic.twitter.com/xlo96RReXH
Here is Stella Immanuel undercutting other hawkers of CoviVits. A shrewd business person, indeed.
Most sell the combination of vitamins C, D, zinc and quercitin for over $50 a months supply. I feel in my spirit to reduce our Covivits to $20 as a seed to help humanity. A healing balm to build your immunity. Get it on https://t.co/5r16FYFw0L. pic.twitter.com/cLvwY6Rcog
