February 29, 2024 ~
DYMM Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj expresses deep sorrow with the statement of YB Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Hadi Awang on 20 February 2024 titled “Islamic Elevation Must Be Defended” addressed to scholars, lawyers, judges, members of parliament and State Assembly as well as Malay Kings.
Follow-up, His Majesty agreed to send a letter to him through the Selangor State PAS Commissioner, YB Dato’ Dr. Ab. Halim Tamuri.
Among the essence of the relevant letter, His Majesty described that Tan Sri Hadi did not thoroughly read His Majesty’s speech during the MKI meeting on February 15, 2024
Tan Sri Hadi’s cynical statement is indirectly linked to His Majesty’s speech orders with the attitude of the Kings who need to have insight into the afterlife and not pursue the interests of the world solely is a statement that is very inappropriate and uncivilized from the perspective of the Malays cultural people who always respect and maintain manners when Expressing views and advice to the Malay Kings.
Tan Sri Hadi’s statement is not only confusing but can bring uneasiness that can eventually lead to the rift in the unity of Muslims especially among the Malays in this country.
If Tan Sri Hadi had been more careful before making any statement by studying and refining His Majesty’s words, Tan Sri Hadi would have been able to understand His Majesty’s true meaning.
Why is he now arguing the position of the Federal Constitution as the primary law of the country when Islam has been established as the Federal religion since the Constitution was enacted in 1957.
His Majesty advises Tan Sri Hadi to be more careful in the future so that he does not repeat the insulting act of Malay Kings through his statements that can divide the Muslims in this country. He also ordered that politicians and political leaders not practice Islam and contaminate the sanctity of Islam for the political interests of their respective parties.
