In the heart of Cornwall, a peculiar tradition has made a stretch of the A39 road between Playing Place and Truro a sight of intrigue and amusement. Known as ‘Cornwall’s Great Wall of China,’ the wall sporadically displays a lineup of mugs, the origins and purpose of which remain an enigma. The recent return of this phenomenon in December, after periods of absence sometimes extending to weeks, months, or even years, featured nine unique mugs, catching the eye of drivers and passersby.

On New Year’s Eve, the traditional array of mugs was replaced with a colourful and unusual assortment of dildos. The unexpected switch sparked a wave of humorous reactions on social media, with the vibrancy of the arrangement catching the attention of passing motorists. The identity of the person or group responsible for setting up and later removing the sex toys remains unknown.
