It was not enough to kick Africans out of their homes and hotels and leave them with no place to stay. Chinese police also had to constantly harass them by chasing them down the street in the rain. (See also Part 5)

In the weeks before China banned foreigners from entering the country, foreigners were banned from entering public places such as restaurants and malls.
This is despite the fact that 90% of imported cases were Chinese nationals.
