Preacher Zamri Vinoth charged with hurting, threatening woman

PETALING JAYA: An independent Muslim preacher was charged in a magistrates’ court in Kangar, Perlis, with hurting and threatening to murder a woman.

Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu, 38, however, claimed trial when the charges were read before magistrate Siti Norhasliza Ali.

On the first charge, Zamri, who is the CEO of One Centre Malaysia Perlis, was accused of voluntarily causing hurt to the 38-year-old woman at a house in Taman Melati Indah on July 14.

On the second charge, Zamri was accused of threatening to murder the same woman at the same location, also on July 14.
