Excerpts:
Are these the worst bathroom signs EVER? Twitter users share cringe-worthy and offensive markings for gendered toilets that refer to men as ‘sausages’ and women as ‘eggs’ – and urge ladies to smile for ‘losing weight’
- Aaron H. Aceves tweeted that he found ‘the worst possible way to gender bathrooms’
- He posted photos of doors reading ‘Eggs, Peaches’ and ‘Sausage, Bananas’
- Other Twitter users responded with more awkwardly gendered signs, like ‘Balls’ vs. ‘No Balls’ and ‘Innies’ vs. ‘Outties.’
- Some use crude artwork and symbols, while one door for men said ‘do epic s***’ while the women’s said ‘smile, you’re losing weight’

As the debate over the existence of gendered public bathrooms rages on, some Twitter users have found one take on gendered bathrooms that is, perhaps, less divisive: that most cheeky ways to differentiate between male and female toilets are just cringe-worthy.
While there are straight-forward ways that show a bathroom is for men or women — like, say, signs that say ‘Men’ and ‘Women’ — some businesses like to have a little fun with their signage, using tongue-in-cheek euphemisms and artwork to get the point across.
But though the intent of these is always humor, many of the jokes fall flat.
This weekend, Twitter user Aaron H. Aceves tweeted that he had found ‘the worst possible way to gender bathrooms,’ posting photos of doors reading ‘Eggs, Peaches’ and ‘Sausage, Bananas.’
The uncomfortable anatomical signs inspired others to share their own photos of awkward bathroom signage, from ‘Innies’ and ‘Outties’ to cartoons thinking about ‘Shopping’ and ‘Football.’
