Police identify individuals spreading rumours on BR1P
IPOH, June 22 — Police are in the midst of identifying the individuals involved in spreading messages containing rumours on social media that the state government is giving out “1Perak People’s Bonus (BR1P)” to the people in conjunction with Ramadan.
As such, Perak police chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan said public with information on the matter were requested to come forward and lodge a report at the nearest police station to facilitate further investigations.
“Stern action will be taken against any irresponsible quarters involved in viralising the message on social media.
“The police also advised all quarters not to fall easily for unverified news received via WhatsApp or any social media platform,” he said in a statement here today.
