Italy says Berlin Christmas market attack suspect shot dead in Milan http://dlvr.it/MxtQ0B
Berlin truck attack suspect Anis Amri has been shot dead in Milan, the ANSA news agency and Italy’s Corriere della Sera newspaper reported today.
There has been a four-day Europe-wide manhunt for Amri, a 24-year-old Tunisian national who is believed to have driven a large truck laden with steel into a Berlin Christmas market late Monday, killing 12 people and injuring 48.
Amri reportedly spent several years in Italy before entering Germany in July 2015.
According to ANSA, Amri was stopped overnight to Friday as part of a routine police control. When asked to show his documents, he pulled a gun and shot a police officer in the shoulder. Police then returned fire and shot him dead.

Catalogue of blunders that left ‘Berlin terrorist’ free to kill

The prime suspect for the Berlin massacre was under covert surveillance for months as a possible terrorist threat until police let him slip through their grasp earlier this month.
Anis Amri, 24, a Tunisian asylum seeker who arrived in Germany last year, was investigated for “preparing a serious crime endangering national safety”, involving funding the purchase of automatic weapons for use in a terrorist attack.
Amri had been arrested earlier this year and was known to be a supporter of the terrorist group thought to be behind the Sousse terrorist attack in Tunisia, as well as being a suspected disciple of a notorious hate preacher.
He had multiple identity documents with six different aliases under three nationalities, and a criminal record in Italy and Tunisia. He spent four years in an Italian prison before travelling to Germany after an expulsion order expired.
The German authorities, who were on Wednesday facing serious questions about how Amri was still at large, tried to deport him in June, but because he had no valid papers proving his nationality he was allowed to stay.
In a further twist, Germany had asked Tunisia to issue a new passport for him so he could be deported, but the document only arrived on Wednesday – two days after the Christmas market attack that claimed 12 lives. It also emerged that the killer might have received hospital treatment for his injuries before slipping away.

There’s no doubt that Germany has a history of covering up terrorism that’s politically explosive. Is it happening again with the Berlin Christmas Market attack? David Knight looks at why the original suspect was arrested in the first place.

A semi-trailer drives through a Christmas Market in Berlin, slaughtering Christmas shoppers yet CNN reports 9 dead & 50 injured from a “truck crash” as they did in the similar terrorist attack on the French Riviera. The Obama administration calls it terror but won’t link to Islam jihadis. David Knight breaks down what we know about this attack and the assassination of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey by an Islamic terrorist earlier today.
And it’s not just terrorists who target our way of life. Students at the Univ of Maryland demand the establish of Islam while California amnesty groups seek to hide lists of gang members from federal immigration officers to keep the gang members from being deported.

Where is the Berlin Christmas market killer? German police FREE Pakistani suspect after admitting he is wrong man – as ISIS praise ‘soldier’ who killed 12

ISIS tonight claimed responsibility for the Berlin Christmas market massacre as German police continued to hunt for the killer amid warnings a second terror attack in the city could be imminent.
The terror group hailed the lorry driver – who murdered 12 people and injured at least 48 others – a ‘soldier’ and praised him for ‘targeting nationals of the coalition countries’.
Tonight German police faced difficult questions about their investigation after they released the only suspect they had in custody, saying there was not enough evidence to tie him to the rampage.
Naved B, a 23-year-old Pakistani asylum seeker, had been detained in the immediate aftermath of last night’s carnage following a tip-off from witnesses. But Naved B, who had no blood on his clothes and no injuries, denied having anything to do with bloodbath. It means the killer lorry driver remains on the loose and armed with a gun.
Berlin prosecutor Holger Münch has warned of a ‘serious threat’ of another ‘significant’ terror attack and Berliners were urged to stay indoors.
Meanwhile Interior minister for a German state, Klaus Bouillon, said that Germany is ‘in a state of war’ after the massacre on Breitscheidplatz Square last night – the seventh in the country this year.
A security services source, a senior police officer, told die Welt newspaper: ‘We have the wrong man. The true perpetrator is still armed, at large and can cause further damage.’
