Hatyai police arrest Malaysian trying to break tyre lock
HATYAI: Thai police arrested a Malaysian here after he tried to force open a tyre lock installed by local authorities.
A police spokesman said the incident at 10am involved Ong Beng Aik, 25, who parked his vehicle in a prohibited area.
“Ong’s arrest followed a report lodged by local residents that he tried to force open a tyre lock,” he told reporters.
Ong did not know that his action was illegal and punishable with three months jail and a fine of 5000Baht (RM1= 8.3Baht).
Ong, from Penang was fined 5000 Baht and released after paying the fine. – Bernama
