When contacted, a KLM Security Services spokesperson said that the advisory was issued after information was verified with the Malaysian authorities.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines said “we do not warn for nothing”, following earlier media reports that the KLM Security Services division had issued an internal bulletin highlighting a threat by Islamic State (IS) militants in several locations and public areas in Malaysia.

However, the IGP says, “Ignore it.”

(Updated) “We Do Not Warn For Nothing” – KLM On Terror Attack Warning

KUALA LUMPUR: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines said “we do not warn for nothing”, following earlier media reports that the KLM Security Services division had issued an internal bulletin highlighting a threat by Islamic State (IS) militants in several locations and public areas in Malaysia.

In response to the buletin, KLM spokesperson told Malaysian Digest: “For KLM, safety and security is always our primary concern. For safety reasons, we continuously and closely monitor all aspects of our operation worldwide.”

The spokesperson added that KLM is responsible 24/7 for the safety of all. However, they added:  “The risk info analysis is an internal document issued for only KLM staff and crew in Malaysia.”

In an earlier development, the Home Ministry when contacted by Malaysian Digest had denied the allegation that there is a threat by Islamic militants launching the said attacks here.

ts minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said that police will continue to monitor public areas to ensure that it is completely safe – saying that they will be vigilant in monitoring.

Malaysian Digest had also placed a call to the Dutch Embassy’s Police and Immigration Attache Division and was directed to another source who also gave the same response, stating that the warning is not true.

Cops dismiss Dutch airlines advisory about likely Isis attacks

Police have dismissed a Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) advisory about possible terror attacks by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (Isis) in Malaysia.

In the advisory, dated January 26, KLM crew and staff were advised to stay away from populated areas such as markets and locations frequented by foreigners.

According to the risk information analysis by the KLM security services, the advisory was issued based on information received from “Malay authorities”.

“The Malay authorities received credible information about intentions of executing terror attacks by Islamic State militants.”

However, police are questioning exactly what “Malay authorities” KLM obtained their information from about the alleged intentions of Isis terror attacks.

“There has been no intelligence received about possible terror attacks, especially in the areas highlighted in the advisory,” a senior police officer said.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the officer told The Malaysian Insider that no police intelligence had been issued to KLM regarding possible Isis activities in Malaysia.

“What information from the Malay authorities has the advisory been based upon?” the officer said.

The officer said Malaysian authorities had been actively tackling the issue of Malaysians sympathising with or supporting Isis.
