The Titanic Cup: The sinking of MH370 as HUMOUR!
Some might call it bad taste, but the winner of Golden Bay’s annual Tata Beach Titanic Cup says his depiction of a sinking Malaysia Airlines plane was about humour rather than causing offence.
Seriously!!! It hasn’t even been a year

And the competition organiser admits that while the winning creation was on the risque side, such entries are par for the course for an event with “Titanic” in its title.
MH370 Titanic Cup: grieving sister disgusted
JOELLE DALLY AND JESS PULLAR
The sister of a Kiwi man on fatal flight MH370 is “disgusted” by the sinking of a cardboard Malaysia Airlines plane in a Golden Bay competition.
It was bad enough that someone entered the idea for the annual Tata Beach Titanic Cup for “humour”.
Even worse that the judges awarded it the winning prize, Christchurch woman Sara Weeks said.
“I’m gobsmacked,” she said.
“It hasn’t even been a year. What if it was his family member on the plane? He [the entrant] wouldn’t find it funny.”
Weeks’ brother, 38-year-old former Christchurch man Paul Weeks, was a passenger on the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 when it disappeared in March last year while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, China.
THIS IS THE PROUD FAMILY, WINNERS.
