Illegal dorms in Tampines exposed: 1,000 foreign workers sleep in 8 blocks of flatted factories

Hi. TNP p1: Tampines illegal dorms exposed: 1,000 workers sleep here in secret & they like it

In the day, the eight blocks of flatted factories at Tampines Street 92 to 94 looks like a normal industrial area.

But at night, the units become a place for foreign workers to cook, eat and sleep.

Some 1,000 workers sleep in these workshops and flatted factories, hidden from plain sight by wooden partitions.

This is illegal, according to the Housing Development Board’s rules.
